Sixteen year old burgeoning model and actress Lily-Rose Depp just came out as sexually fluid via Instagram in the most epically casual way, and frankly, I’m ecstatic for her. The news broke by way of a photo taken for artist iO Tillett Wright’s Self Evident Truths project, a series depicting 10,000 people in the U.S. who identify as “not 100 percent straight.”  “She falls somewhere on the vast spectrum,” Wright wrote in the Instragam caption. “And I couldn't be happier to welcome her to the family."   I'm so proud of my baby girl @lilyrose_depp. Read More
About a week ago model/actress/muse Cara Delevingne made headlines for what the Internet called a “painfully awkward” interview with Good Day Sacramento meant to publicize her lead role in Paper Towns, the eponymously named filmic adaption of author John Green’s bestselling young adult novel. Things got a little heated when the host asked Delevingne a sexist, condescending question – and rightfully so. Hollywood press junkets are basically sexism summits,  if this new Funny or Die sketch starring Kristen Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg is an accurate depiction. Read More
To begin, she forgets the word “lexicon.” Renowned linguistics professor, wife, and mother of three grown children, Alice Howland (Julianne Moore) grapples with losing her words to the cruel chaos of Early-Onset Alzheimer’s. Still Alice, poised to be a brutal exposition, and an Oscar vehicle for Moore, is polished but forgettable. The Howland family dynamics remain superficial whether fault lies in the acting, script, or characters themselves. Read More
Vampires don’t die easily. Especially vamps that grossed $3.3 billion worldwide.  The Twilight saga continues now that Lionsgate is sponsoring “The Storytellers -- New Voices of the Twilight Saga,” a Facebook-based competition to find and fund five Twi-verse short films written and directed by women.    Fans are currently voting to decide which characters the films will ultimately develop.   Jenny Lewis is one of my favorite musicians of all time. I didn’t think my love for this maven could’ve grown any more after years of touring as one-half of my favorite band Rilo Kiley, her very successful solo albums Jenny Lewis with the Watson Twins: Rabbit Fur Coat and Acid Tongue, or the fact that she played Phyllis Nefler’s daughter in the cult classic Troop Beverly Hills. But she’s topped everything, and the Internet might just explode, with her new music video for her single “Just One of the Guys”. Read More
That's right, our favorite charming heroine of Hollywood has now surpassed Miss Bella herself. Stewart was raking in the dough between May 2011 and May 2012, boasting $34.5 million that year alone. This past year, though, between May of 2012 and 2013, she dropped to $22 million. Meanwhile, Jen Law gained a whopping $26 million between June 2012 to June 2013, thanks to the epic Hunger Games blockbuster. (P.S. Lionsgate paid her $1 milli for the movie itself.) At the ripe age of 22, that makes Jennifer Lawrence the highest paid actor, male or female, under the age of 30. Read More
I’m sure you won’t mind that I’m not reciting this letter out loud to you on YouTube, the way a 14-year-old Twilight fan would. People are so full of feelings about you lately, Kristen Stewart—about your affair, your breakup, your public apology, your reconciliation. I have feelings about you too, but I’ll do my best not to make this weird. I’m sorry that I didn’t have the best impression of you at first, when I caught New Moon on a plane. Read More
It’s the perfect time for Jack Kerouac’s iconic autobio- graphical novel On the Road to come to the big screen, despite skepticism that this singular staple of beat liter- ature has finally been sold out. Today we find ourselves in an era of uncertain futures populated by emasculated, cigarette-smoking young men with thick-framed glasses and the women who love them—not unlike the late ’40s. Read More
It is with great sadness (happiness) that I report that as of this past weekend, our long national dream (nightmare) is over. That's right, people--Breaking Dawn Part 2 premiered in theaters, thus ending The Twilight Saga once and for all, or at least until they reboot it in five years with hotter, younger actors. Just kidding, no one is younger than Taylor Lautner. Read More
News broke yesterday that Kristen Stewart is not just involved in a fictional love triangle with a werewolf and a vampire. In fact, she is the tip of an all too real equilateral between her, her Twilight co-star/(ex?) boyfriend Robert Pattinson and the director of her last film, Snow White and the Hunstman. Not only did she commit infidelity in her own relationship, but she made the other dude an adulterer. That's right, he's married. Kristen is apparently very remorseful, going as far as to issue a public apology in which she professes her love for Patz. Read More
