While reading the March/April issue of “Lego Club” little girls everywhere will finally be able to answer one of life’s most pressing questions: What haircut looks best with my face shape? It’s obvious that Lego was simply trying to HELP their five-to-twelve-year-old audience solve a baffling beauty conundrum. Because WHY ELSE would Lego need to create Lego ladies—who, by the way, are not shaped like blocks, but instead like slender teens (who happen to have mad mascara applying skills). Also file under: Barf. Read More

It's a damn shame that women still feel any sort of external pressure to procreate, especially when it's a totally independent decision. Yet, here we have a few dozen paparazzi and interviewers demanding an explanation from twenty-five female celebrities sans children. Zooey Deschanel had us all nodding with her quick rebuttal to the question: “I'm not going to answer that question. I'm not mad at you for asking that question, but I've said it before: I don't think people ask men those questions. Read More
There I was, sitting outside on my lunch break, drinking a violently green-colored juice BECAUSE I AM HEALTHY and eating a Toblerone BECAUSE I AM SOMETIMES HEALTHY watching a young mother chase her ginger-haired kid around a cluster of potted plants. I could hear her voice rising as both her temper and the child began to get away from her, and I briefly wondered if I should help her snatch the boy before some roving kidnapper did. Then I remembered I am exceedingly anti-screaming toddler before devouring the rest of my unbalanced lunch and walking back to work. Read More

My first experience with a Walkman is forever burned into my memory. My mom and I went to some local mixed-media store that has since gone out of business, and I begged her to shell out the dollars so I could listen to my Spice Girls in isolated bliss. My player of choice was bright red and had a Mickey-head shaped window to view the magical spinning of those cassette wheels. I put on my headphones, pressed the massive plastic play button, and yelled to my mom "WOW IT'S LIKE MY LIFE HAS A SOUNDTRACK" with an enormous grin on my face. It was a magical afternoon. Read More
There’s nothing like being read to; simply put, being told a story makes ya feel loved.Shelter animals around the world deserve to feel special and cared for, and the Animal Rescue League of Berks County thought of an unusual way to nurture their underprivileged cats.
