Check out the goofy new video for “She’s Not Me,” a song off of Jenny Lewis’ most recent album, The Voyager. Lewis pays homage to her own child star days with the help of some famous friends: the video features Vanessa Bayer, Feist, Fred Armisen, and Zosia Mamet. The stars recreate Troop Beverly Hills, The Golden Girls, and Pleasantville, to name a few. Lewis is, as ever, supremely cool and beautifully honest, making us laugh and cry at the same time. The Grammys red carpet is always a welcome departure from the play-it-safe motto of almost every other show during awards season. How many women would actually prefer wearing a sleek black floor-length gown? Yawn. With all the focus on the performances, the Grammys invite so much more risk-taking. There were so many phenomenal outfits last night, but one trend we were particularly psyched about? The almost unheard of number of ladies dressed in pants. The Haim sisters in power suits. Jane Fonda in an emerald jumper. Jenny Lewis in her killer Lisa Frank-esque get-up. Read More

August is coming to a close (where did the month go??) and a lot of our Busties will be going back to school this fall, so we thought we would compile our intern staff's favorite songs of the past month (new and old!) to wrap up the summer, now that the dog days are over. The nights are already getting cooler, we're all secretly aching to get back to wearing cute boots and knee high socks, and I for one am ready to drink hot coffee again. I mean, I'm not going to stop drinking iced coffee, I just like having the option of drinking a nice foamy latte. Read More
Jenny Lewis’ new album The Voyager dropped yesterday. THIS IS NOT A DRILL. We reported on the amazing moustache-filled cross-dressing wonderment that was her music video for “One of the Guys,” starring our ladyloves Kristen Stewart, Anne Hathaway and Brie Larson, but the day is finally here. THE ALBUM HAS DROPPED. Former Rilo Kiley front woman Jenny Lewis has produced her third solo album in six years — a perfectly polished musical scrapbook of her wayward adventures — and it is pure girl power. Read More
Jenny Lewis is one of my favorite musicians of all time. I didn’t think my love for this maven could’ve grown any more after years of touring as one-half of my favorite band Rilo Kiley, her very successful solo albums Jenny Lewis with the Watson Twins: Rabbit Fur Coat and Acid Tongue, or the fact that she played Phyllis Nefler’s daughter in the cult classic Troop Beverly Hills. But she’s topped everything, and the Internet might just explode, with her new music video for her single “Just One of the Guys”. Read More
After 6 years of no Rilo Kiley, I had given up on ever hearing anything new from them again. While not all of rkives is brand spankin' "new" exactly, it's still a lovely treat for my ears that I welcomed with open arms. A collection of rarities and B-sides, the 16-song album has pretty much everything a Rilo Kiley fan could as for. The three leading tracks are strong, beginning with "Let Me Back In," a break-up-turned-love-song that lets Jenny Lewis' voice soar beautifully. The chorus is a praise of thanks, as she sings, "When the palm trees bow their heads/ No matter how cruel I've been/ L. Read More

Why walk together when you can rock together?  Such must have been the mentality of lovebirds-turned-songbirds Jenny and Johnny. Jenny and Johnny is the musical pairing of indie rock queen, Jenny Lewis, and her equally talented beau Johnathan Rice. The couple met back in 2005 through Bright Eyes front-man Connor Oberst and have been inseparable ever since--Rice joining Lewis’ tour in 2006 for the release of her debut solo album Rabbit Fur Coat.
