The Piplantri village in Rajasthan, India is becoming known for its eco-feminism. Former village leader Shyam Sundar Paliwal launched the practice of honoring newborn female babies by planting 111 trees every time a girl is born. In December of 2012, a 23-year-old woman got on an off-duty bus in India with a male friend. Today, Pakistan suffered one of the bloodiest attacks the country has faced in years.
