The hardcore/punk/whatever gods have opened up the sky and blessed us with new songs from not just one, but two of the most talented bands making music right now.    Perfect Pussy and Joanna Gruesome are releasing a split 7” (because, of course, it’s on vinyl) that features two new songs from both artists *Heart palpitations*. It is yet to be released until some time in September, BUT DON’T LOSE FAITH. Read More
There’s really no way to find order in the chaos of noise-punk band Whorecough. The Virginia four-piece had their first show in a storage unit in the town where they met and since then have self-released a demo that combines styles of punk that don’t make sense on paper, but somehow work perfectly together. Dalle was destined to be a feminist role model, accompanying her mother to anti-Bush protests, discovering Courtney Love at age 12, and joining a feminist collective before finishing high school. She started her first band, Sourpuss, when she was thirteen and went on to front the epic punk band the Distillers. Read More
Mish Way is the lead singer of Candian punk band, White Lung. She also writes for BUST, VICE, and is the Senior Women’s Correspondent for Noisey. She recently wrote an article about her experience in the underground music scene as a female “screamer.” We’re huge fans of Way over at BUST and are pretty stoked to hear her share insight as a musician and a writer. Here are some choice quotes from the article that we found pretty damn fascinating. “As a baby, I had colic. Colic babies never shut up. Read More
