Multi-faceted artist Hannah Lew has been having quite a year. After a group consensus to put her post-punk band, Grass Widow, on the backburner, Lew has been spending her time starting her own record label, making music videos, and forming new musical projects with fellow Bay Area musicians. Lately the bassist, visual artist and filmmaker’s main focus has been her new band, Cold Beat.
Lew acts as the sole lyricist and vocalist of Cold Beat, whose debut full-length album, Over Me dropped just last week on her label Crime on the Moon. Read More

Grass Widow is perhaps one of my favorite new bands out there. Their form of girl rock evokes both nostalgic memories and daydreams of the future. The three piece all women set just released a new album entitled Internal Logic which embodies a mellowed-out riot-grrrl sound, like a road trip with your BFF in a wood panel station wagon. This album makes me want to live this summer in sun-drenched freedom. It also boasts approval from the likes of girl band goddess Tobi Vail.
