One’s name is meaningful, often because of its relation to gender identity. Sadly, having a name normally assigned to males on a professional resume often gets an individual more interviews. Many transgender individuals choose to legally change their legal names to reflect their identities. Names matter, and unisex names are on the rise.
Most of these names, like Hunter and Blake, are traditionally thought of as boy names, ... Read More
In his new book, titled “The Dirty Side Of Glamour,” the photographer Tyler Shields unveils a subversion of conventional celebrity portraiture. The artist, known for his liberal use of blood and guns in his portraits of Lindsey Lohan, is showcasing new shots of celebrities in erotic and often perverse or unsettling positions.
Interestingly, he addresses the raw, shocking content with the polished, candy-coated palette and high resolution ... Read More

Last night I got to go to a concert at Irving Plaza to see some of my favorite people perform some of my favorite songs. It was called the Starkid SPACE Tour, and yes it sounds stupid, but they are really the funniest, most talented group of people ever. I waited in line with my friends (fellow 8th graders) for 5 hours, and when we finally got in it was extremely cramped but it was still exciting just to be there. The crowd was made up of 99% girls, probably ... Read More
If anyone was watching the Emmys on Sunday, you may have noticed Glee star Heather Morris' nipple slip on the red carpet.
This is hardly shocking news, as these fashion faux-pas seem to happen constantly in Hollywood. If you search "nip slip" online you can find pictures of various celebrities accidentally flashing some boob.
What I don't understand is why human beings are shocked over a little nudity these days. Sure it's unexpected, sure it isn't ... Read More

Not to put a damper on anyone’s day, but I wanted to touch on the recent controversy surrounding Glee star Heather Morris' and photographer Tyler Shields' new photo shoot. The images show the blonde in a polka-dotted dress surrounded by household appliances, clearly as a Barbie doll figure. That’s not the controversial part. She sports a black eye in the photos as well. Looking through Mr. Shields’ work one can see Morris' photo spread is not the ... Read More
Fashion Night Out is just around the corner September 8th and promos, events, and products are making their way across the internet. If you're unfamiliar with FNO, it's an annual event now in its third year that occurs just before fashion week. It was created during dark economic times to encourage retail therapy and the love for shopping America once had. That might sound materialistic, but FNO is not all about buying, it's also about celebrating fashion in ... Read More
I blog a lot about fashion blogs, which I love and can't get enough of, but I thought I'd showcase one of the blogs I go to the most for entertainment news and fashion opinions I respect: Tom&Lorenzo. I only recently realized they changed their official blog name from Project Rungay to Tom&Lorenzo. It makes sense though since when the blog first began in 2006 it was primarily about Project Runway, but covers a lot more now. Even if you didn't ... Read More

Youtube user and Swedish resident Wilhelm Hepel has made a tribute video to the oeuvre of the world's greatest film and television extra, Jessie Heiman. The urban myth is that Heiman appears somewhere in every movie or tv show of the last ten years. Hepel managed to find one or two instances of Heiman's prestigious career...

Glee character, Lauren Zizes is my new idol. She has a don’t-give-a-fuck attitude reminiscent of Daria, and exudes self-esteem and confidence.
Zizes, played by Ashley Fink, started out as a background character in season one. She gained more air-time when she agreed to join glee club in the latest season, so they can qualify for sectionals, even though she thinks “show choir is lame”. She still remained in the background, up until recently ... Read More

Last night's episode of Glee spotlighted high-school bullying, in the form of Kurt, McKinley High's only openly gay student, who is physically and verbally abused for his sexuality, and Shannon Beiste, the new football coach who threatens Sue's budget exploitation, being made fun of behind her back for her lack of sexual appeal to teenage boys. As I watched the episode, it was impossible not to be reminded of the recent gay teen suicides, and I felt it was a ... Read More
