And given how popular thrifting’s gotten in recent years, even thrift stores have started hiking up the prices. Calling all feminists, zinesters, or anyone at all! This year’s Feminist Zinefest will be taking place this Saturday (tomorrow), March 1st 2014, at Barnard College, from 1:00pm to 6:00pm. The event is free, open to the public, and there is no RSVP necessary, so you really don’t have an excuse not to go.
Not only did we, Bust Magazine, get our start as a zine way back in 90’s, but also the folks showcasing at this event are awesome and their work remains indispensable to the feminist publishing community. Read More

With the Philly Naked Bike Ride and fall’s SlutWalk Providence quickly approaching, I needed something glitzy to complete my event attire - or non-attire. Yeah, yeah, it’s called ‘Naked’ Bike Ride, but it’s also an opportunity to wear nipple tassels and pasties and prance around in public. Since I don’t have the funds for the fancy stuff (like these babies from Agent Provocateur), I rolled up my sleeves and crafted my own no-sew nipple tassels.
