In an interview with Jezebel, baby-faced OITNB actor Matt McGorry discusses feminism, something he has spent the last couple of years learning (and tweeting) about. “For lack of a better term, I’m balls-out,” he says.
He tells Jezebel that we need to make it “okay for people to fuck up” when talking about feminism and intersectionality, particularly in conversation with people who are new to these social justice issues. “It’s this dangerous, slippery slope where, sometimes if you aren’t an expert, people want to crucify you, you know?” he says. It's been a pretty excellent week on the Emma Watson front, first at Davos on behalf of HeForShe (killer speech, right?) and now in Tinseltown. It makes perfect sense to us that one of the world's best-known young feminists is set to play Disney's famed nose-buried-in-a-book leading lady. We're sure she'll totally nail it. Read More

Emma Watson has warmed our hearts and empowered our vaginas once again!
Some of you may recall the speech she delivered at the UN earlier in 2014. It was there that she announced her campaign HeforShe, a "solidarity movement for gender equality that brings together one half of humanity in support of the other half of humanity. Read More
J.K. Rowling has officially received a run for her money.
Zoe Snugg, a twenty-four year old youtube star ( known as Zoella), released her debut novel Girl Online. Its main character is a young girl navigating life by blogging. The book was released on November 25th. The first week of sales produced numbers that outsold the first week of sales for (the glorious) J.K. Rowling's debut novel, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
Let's just take a moment.
I'm not sure what this bodes about the millennials. Read More
Back in April, a White House task force released a twenty-page report that proposed steps to address the disturbingly high rates of sexual assault on college campuses (1 in 5 women is sexually assaulted in college, often by someone she knows, often in her first two years at school). The report outlines ways the federal government can better understand and prevent this epidemic. These include demanding access to accurate data from universities, engaging men in prevention, and helping schools respond effectively and responsibly to cases of assault. Read More

Emma Watson recently became a UN Goodwill Ambassador and launched HeForShe, a solidarity campaign to bring men into the gender equality movement and to rid the negative connotations that come with the word feminism (Yes! Yes! Yes!). We know we all need our friends and family to understand if they don't already that being a feminist in no way, shape, or form means that you hate men or the color pink.

I wouldn't call it "regret" exactly but in a recent interview J.K. Rowling admits to selfish motives regarding the beloved romance between 2/3rds of our favorite trio.
From the hybable article on the matter:
“I wrote the Hermione/Ron relationship as a form of wish fulfillment. That’s how it was conceived, really. For reasons that have very little to do with literature and far more to do with me clinging to the plot as I first imagined it, Hermione ended up with Ron.”

The Bling Ring is based on a true story so strange, it could only have happened in the moneyed ’burbs of L.A. Five teens—four girls, one guy—take their obsession with luxe living to the next level by burglarizing celebrity homes for thrills, bills, and prescription pills.
In Sofia Coppola’s retelling of the crew’s crimes, Emma Watson, Taissa Farmiga, Katie Chang, Claire Julien, and Israel Broussard play teens as familiar with couture fashion and exclusive nightclubs as they are with drugs and gangster rap. Read More

Are you ready for it? Sofia Coppola’s Bling Ring opens tomorrow, June 14th.
We can’t wait to see Emma Watson, Leslie Mann, and the kickass ensemble cast take on the true story that rocked Hollywood back in 2008. These teens stole over three million dollars worth of lux goods from the homes of the Hollywood A-list, including Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, and Orlando Bloom.
To get you pumped for this release, we're giving away a Bling Ring prize pack (which includes a poster, T-shirt, and book) to one lucky BUST Blog reader!

Kate Moss, Agyness Deyn, Emma Watson, and now…Adele?
British Vogue reports that Adele may collaborate with British luxury fashion house Burberry on a plus-size line.
According to British Vogue, Burberry creative director Christopher Bailey personally approached Adele to become a Burberry ambassador, and Adele responded by asking if Burberry would collaborate with her on a plus-size collection.
Her request seems pretty reasonable. If Burberry asked Adele to represent them, they should probably start carrying more clothes that might, you know, fit her. Read More
