I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the mysterious and curious nature of feminist dating. No matter what gender you identify with, dating is complicated enough. Either in a long-term relationship or casually using Tinder, it can be hard to remain true to who you are. If we add the complicated issue of “How do I date when I’m a feminist and I’m trying to save the world?”, it can prove to be quite a challenge!
Let’s break it down. Read More

It does not surprise me that Jon Hamm sported a wispy middle part in the 90's, considering that it was the most popular haircut of the decade. However, because Hamm didn't reach the peak of his stardom until more than a decade later, as the part of debonair Don Draper on the show Mad Men, his hairdo has made viral waves after a video clip of his appearance on dating show, The Big Date, was exposed yesterday. Is that a list in your pants, or are you just happy to see me? Irony has rooted itself in our culture, and now it's taken hold of our sex lives.
Dating and sex can be awkward for everyone, but a little determination goes a long way. It's best to be pragmatic about these things. The world, and the internet currently attempting to swallow it whole, is full of misinformation, theories, and most of all, lists.
The sex tips in beauty magazines usually end up more boardroom than bedroom. Read More

According to data collected by AYI (Are You Interested), a Tinder-style dating app, users respond better to potential partners outside of their own ethnicity when searching for dates. Surveying over 2 million people, the data revealed several things, most notably that all men, except for Asian men, prefer Asian women.
"People are less prejudice when they decide who they want to respond to in an online dating context," Josh Fischer, VP of Product & Insights for AYI.com told Fusion.
The data also showed that Hispanic, Caucasian, and Asian women prefer Caucasian men. Read More

The Media Coop recently posted an article titled "Dating Tips for the Feminist Man" that offers some amazing tips for practicing what you preach. There is a lot of repetition, but you can never discuss emotional check-ins too much!
An interesting point made in the article is that, while being a sensitive guy is awesome, there is more to being a feminist than simply not being a jerk-off. Tip number four illustrates just that:
"If you don't know how you feel, or you're not sure, or you have conflicting or ambiguous or confused emotions, say that. Say 'I'm not sure what this means. Read More

I've had my share of intimate rendezvous with a not-to-be-named musician or two, but I didn't realize the intricacies of dating a rock star until I was actually in a committed relationship with one.
The rock star relationship lifestyle ain't no walk in the park. Just ask the ladies of Rock of Love. Or don't...
1. They're not as cool as they seem.In fact, if you stripped away all their stage-cred and hype, they'd just be talented guitar nerds. And if you're actually in love with one, you adore them because they're not nearly as cool as people think they are.

Didn’t auction bidding for people end in 1864 with, oh you know, the end of slavery? The dating-auction website WhatsYourPrice.com thinks not. Founded in 2011, the site instead uses a “date value” system to set up dates based on the actual prices men and women are willing to pay for a first date. Read More
