Just a few short months ago, Naama Bloom was operating her small business from her Brooklyn apartment. She had the concept: her company, HelloFlo, delivers monthly tampons and pads to subscribers. Meant in part to ease pubescent girls’ transition into menstruation, the packages come in various sizes and quantities, which include tasty treats to help make periods a little more fun. Bloom’s company was far from the growing empire it is today and she often had to buy products in bulk from Costco. Read More
In my opinion, one of the absolute coolest things about BUST is that it embraces “girlie feminism” (in fact, the magazine and its founders came up with the whole concept). It’s so important to remember that a gal who likes stereotypically “girlie” things, from crafting and knitting to ponies and pink, can be just as powerful as a man who likes stereotypically manly things. She can, in fact, derive her power and sense of self in part from these “girlie” things. Read More
Do you gals know about the slow loris? About five minutes ago, I didn't either. Turns out, slow lorises might be the best primates to grace the internet thus far. Read More

Get ready to cry your eyes out over this crazy cuteness. At Taipei Zoo in Taiwan, this li’l panda was injured just a few days after birth and had to be separated from her mother for treatment. Yuan Zai was placed in a special incubator, where she was cared for and closely monitored. Now, about a month later, Yuan Zai is healed and the unbearably cute creatures can have their family reunion. Although it might look like the mother, Yuan Yuan, is trying to bite her kin’s head off, she’s actually just moving her into her lap for maximum cuddles. Read More

With all the upsetting, uber-depressing news pouring in left and right lately, I believe a good cat video is in order. This furry lil friend is up to no good, trying to nab some human's rug. (But what do they need it for anyway? They don't even have claws to knead and rip it up with! Silly humans.) Just try to tell me you've seen a cuter game of tug o' war. Read More
In case you need another reason to love Ryan Gosling, here you go. Last week, proud Canadian, actor, eye-candy, and animal lover Gosling wrote a charming letter to The Globe and Mail to declare his outrage at the inhuman treatment of pregnant pigs, and praise Canada's National Farm Animal Care Council for trying to help stop it.
He noted that he was "so heartened to learn that Canada is taking steps toward improving the treatment of animals in the food supply. Read More

Venus the cat has a condition: total badassery. As you can see, she's got two different eye colors (AKA heterochromia) and a giant, perfectly straight splash of black that runs down half of her face. She pretty much looks like Two Face but I guess scientists have a name for this, too. They're speculating that this may make Venus a chimera. This means that, under rare circumstances, two genetically different embryos merged in the womb. This is basically the opposite of identical twins, where the fertilized egg would separate to form two different embryos. Read More

We can’t get enough of cute critters taking baths. Is that really so wrong? I mean, yes, maybe we went a little overboard with a list of our favorite bathing beauties, but hey, we make no apologies for bringing you the best in cute. So once again, let us baby talk.
What animal could we possibly have in store for you today? A bunny, of course. Now, I’ll be honest: bunnies aren’t my favorite YouTube stars out there. They’re kind of like what bananas are to filet mignon (you can thank Björk for this very weird/always useful metaphor). Read More

We couldn't resist. There are just too darn many adorbs critters out there getting all squeaky clean in the cutest way possible. I mean, if you saw this little guy refusing to leave his bath, you know that sometimes our furry friends really do have an appreciation for hygiene. Some like lathering up, some like the shower head, and some even like the blow dryer, if you can believe it! Others just chill out and float around in the water. We've got all kinds of lovable creatures from sloths to monkeys to hedgehogs. Enjoy your Tuesday!
