Today's BUST: Cute Animals Edition brings you the inimitable Bubba and Gigi, a couple of sweet French bulldogs who share a sublime romance.
I know. I’m totally trying to get adopted, too.
Tell us, what’s your secret? ...What’s that? Communication and honesty?
Their snuggly friend, Burt the Pug, totally wants in on this relationship too. Read More

With all the upsetting, uber-depressing news pouring in left and right lately, I believe a good cat video is in order. This furry lil friend is up to no good, trying to nab some human's rug. (But what do they need it for anyway? They don't even have claws to knead and rip it up with! Silly humans.) Just try to tell me you've seen a cuter game of tug o' war. Read More

Happy Furry Friday everyone! I’m surprised it took me this long to write my first cute baby animal post at BUST, but I’ve finally made it! And I’ve saved myself for something that is epic levels of precious, so brace yourselves: it’s a kitty in little knitted costumes.
STOP, MY HEART! This poor little baby, named Wasabi-Chan, got attacked by a crow in early June, resulting in a split tongue, fractured jaw, and had to be fed via catheter tube. Read More

It’s a perfect day – the glimmering sun breaks through the clouds and warms their backs as they cheerily go for their daily afternoon stroll. The loving father beams down at her when suddenly, spotting something in the road, she skitters away, and he shouts out, Stay! to his – dog? Or, uh, daughter?
This commercial from the Best Friends Animal Society disturbingly blurs the line between girl and pup.
The advertisement is for their Fix At Four campaign, which encourages pet owners to spay and neuter their animals at four months. Read More

Here at BUST, we strive to give you the latest in feminist news, pop culture, and, of course, baby animals. Because we all know the world would be a darker place without them.
Today we’ve got a whole new load of photos from my new favorite species. Meerkat siblings Fips and Luck were born on April 23 at Aachen Zoo in western Germany and were unfortunately rejected by their mother. The zoo staff has since been dedicated to the cuddly twosome as their adoptive family, and it seems that the road hasn’t always been easy. Read More

Thank you, internet gods!
What, I ask you, is better than cat videos? (Yes, I know: good sex, BUST magazine, coffee.) And what if someone, some genius, were to combine all the best cat videos from one month into a convenient video you could have on repeat all day?
Thank you, mother Russia! Not only do you have a theatre with cat performers (check out MCAT here), you give us our cat fix of the month. Read More

Here’s one unusual animal pairing that’ll get your heart warming in no time. Little remains known about the story’s background, but the adorable photos tell it all: a mastiff adopted a baby chimpanzee as one of its own. Cue endless baby talk.
It’s unclear whether the baby chimp’s mother passed away or abandoned the newborn, but after a zoo caretaker took the chimp home and introduced it to the mastiff and her puppies, the pair became inseparable. Read More

The Oregon Zoo just posted an adorable video of their two-month-old river otter Molalla learning to swim. Otter keeper Becca VanBeek explains that otters are practically immobile when they're babies, so Mo's mom Tilly has been easing him into the water. Baby Mo was as big as "a handful of jellybeans" (!!!) when he was born, but he's now a 2000-gram pup with "quite the personality."
To honor the first river otter born at Oregon Zoo, Metro is donating money from every visit to help restore the local wetlands where otters live. Read More

What is better than a bulldog on a skateboard? I’m gonna give you a minute. This is thought-provoking and hard-hitting journalism at work here.
A PIG ON A SURFBOARD. Total squee. My heart hurts. This is definitely the cutest thing ever. The pig’s name is Zorro and he is an “incredible swimmer.” His owner, Matthew Bell of Mount Maunganui, New Zealand, plans on taking the lil’ guy out on the waves until he is too big. Let us hope that the day never comes!
