Courtney Love has a new song out via Ghost Ramp: “Miss Narcissist” is classic Courtney, confrontational and acidic. Love is touring with Lana Del Ray this summer, part of Del Ray’s “Endless Summer” tour, and “Miss Narcissist” seems perfectly suited to the arena. Like much of Love’s best work, her new tune is both a sly commentary and an anthem, sure to be heard in bedrooms and stadiums alike. Listen here. Artwork by ... Read More
Rolling Stone’s recent feature on Frances Bean Cobain proves the 22 year old is wise beyond her years: A visual artist who already understands how important it is to force yourself to regularly create, Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love’s daughter is currently in the spotlight because the documentary about her father she helped produce—Montage of Heck—will be released by HBO on May 4: The whole article is worth a read, but here are some of our ...   Courtney Love played the stand alone Elle Dallas on the last episode of Empire. Despite the character's nod to some of the singers own problems, Courtney admitted to channeling her inner Mariah, Whitney, Winehouse and Stevie Nicks to conquer the roll (all women we love).  Will our rock and roll it-girl be putting her pipes to use? Hell yes! We can expect to see Love doing an original song on next week's episode. Until then, check out this clip from ... Read More
Maybe we wish it wasn’t so groundbreaking at this point, but the truth is Hanna Brewer is a badass for doing what she’s doing: playing drums. The world of performing musicians is still largely made up of men, and though women have been dominating Billboard charts this year, the backlash against the upcoming Women in Music Awards reminds us that female success in the music industry is not yet entirely expected (for example, like this FDRMX article asks, ... Apart from her amazing performance in her band White Lung, it was Mish Way's unabashed admiration for Courtney Love that first endeared her to me.  For all her faults, Courtney taught a generation of girls that women could be wild rock stars too. Sure, there were lots of female-fronted rock groups like Veruca Salt and Garbage around, but none were nearly as in-your-face, smart and unapologetic as Courtney.  She always had an articulate and witty reply ...   On Wednesday evening, The New York Times’s Frank Bruni was enjoying a cab ride home from dinner at New York’s Barbuto when he saw an inconspicuous little iPhone sitting on the seat beside him. Without a case and yet perfectly intact, he took the lost phone home and waited for it to ring. To his dismay, the phone was impenetrable. But there was a stream of texts coming in from celebrity contacts like psychic Peri Lyons and stylist Lo’renzo ... Read More
Courtney Love is unsmotable. As Hole’s frontwoman and Kurt Cobain’s wife, Love was the leading lady of ‘90s grunge. Since then, she has gone through her fair share of highs and lows, from punching Kathleen Hanna in the face to being the muse of Givenchy designer Ricardo Tisci. Now, she has a bunch of other projects on her plate ... including  tons of "crafty shit." Love's just like the rest of us - she's promoting her clothing ... Read More
