Hundreds of men and women gathered in the Kenyan capitol, Nairobi, to protest the attack on a woman "guilty" of wearing a miniskirt in public.
The protestors handed out flowers and chanted, “Shame on you,” at the bus stop in Nairobi’s Central Business District, where the attack took place. Multiple men cornered the woman in the street, tore off her clothes and forced her onto the ground, all as a result for her personal choice ... Read More

I’m a big fan of Cafepress, a website where you can buy knick knacks and memorabilia with slogans, images, and sayings, many of which are quite original. The shirt proudly proclaims that girls excel in important subjects ... Read More

In a more brooding tone, she confesses "I feel like I care a lot about how I look... Is that bad?" In high school, clothes and style seem to be indispensable to one's self-worth, from the hairstyle to the shoes. Similar to my sister, many girls seem to be concerned that ... Read More

Russia's Orthodox Church recently advocated more modest dress; top church official Archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin, who previously said that mini skirts "provoke" men, complained of women "either scantily clad or painted like a clown"- strong words, the article points out, in a country like Russia, where dressing up, wearing a lot of makeup, and good grooming are often the norm for women.
Though this conversation isn't new, it does bring up issues about ... Read More
