The top 100 names that were all the rage in 1940 have dropped almost 700 spots, Find My Past reported recently. This is a harsh contrast to how far the most popular boys names dropped- hardly at all- by only 100 spots. This may point to the way in which we view ourselves and our daughters. As Gloria Steinem said, "We are becoming more like the men we wanted to marry.
