It’s been a big week in female superhero universes. First Gwen Stacy was bitten by a radioactive spider, and now Catwoman has come out of the closet as bisexual!
In issue 39 of the Catwoman comics, Batman’s anti-hero kisses another woman. Genevieve Valentine, who took over the character’s spinoff in October, couldn’t be happier that she’s established Selina Kyle as a “cannon bisexual,” which she describes as an ... Read More

Today marks the swearing-in of Kate Brown (D), the first openly bisexual governor in America. Following incumbent John Kitzhaber's resignation, Brown will become Oregon's 37th governor, and likely one of its most memorable.

Until today, the lack of LGBT representation among Disney characters had never occurred to me, simply because it seemed so incredibly implausible that it wasn't even worth the frustration. The pinnacle of "wholesome family values" bringing a lil' diversity into the mix? Psssh! But as it turns out, I've never been so happy to be proven wrong.
This past Sunday, the Disney-ABC show "Once Upon a Time" featured a sniffle-inducing scene in which Mulan (nearly!) reveals ... Read More
