The empty chair sits next to the 35th woman in a recent New York Magazine project shedding light on Bill Cosby’s sexual assaults. Although the front-facing, emotionless women send a powerful message, the empty chair speaks louder than all of their words combined. It symbolizes the 11 women who accused Cosby of assault, but did not allow their photo to be captured for the project – even worse, it symbolizes the numerous other women who may have been assaulted and have yet to come forth. 35 – it's the alleged number of women Bill Cosby has raped by use of Quaaludes. Though this large number is haunting, the number of people refusing to believe the women is even worse.  In a recent project conducted by New York Magazine's, Noreen Malone and Amanda Demme, these women have finally been given the chance to tell their horrifying stories. Though a hacker (supposedly not hired by Cosby's team) took the site down in an effort to mask these tales, the project is back up and running and can be viewed here. Read More
In news that will shock exactly no one, a newly revealed deposition details Bill Cosby’s abuses of his power in manipulating and attacking women. Cosby discusses his relationship with Andrea Constand in the early 2000s. “He painted his relationship with Ms. Constand as one of mentor and mentee, casting himself in the role of an experienced guide and offering her the benefit of his contacts, fame, and experience,” The New York Times writes. Lo and behold, there’s finally evidence of the deplorable actions of Bill Cosby. Recently released court documents from 2005 contain the former TV star admitting to acquiring prescription drugs to give to women he wanted to have sex with. Shocking? Not really, due to the many women who have come forward with allegations of sexual assault and rape against Cosby. The documents come from a lawsuit made by Andrea Constand against Cosby. Read More
Judd Apatow is not going to let the Bill Cosby scandal go. On last night's Late Night with Seth Meyers, Apatow said that people that claim he should stop criticizing Cosby are more or less saying “Leave a rapist alone.” Apatow has come under fire for his criticism of Cosby—and though he did admit he shouldn’t respond to so many tweets from Cosby defenders, he refuses to stop his ridiculing. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler kicked off the Golden Globes for their third year in a row with gorgeous dresses and hilarious celebrity digs. Well, the public finally got Phylicia Rashad’s opinion on the Bill Cosby sexual assault allegations. Unsurprisingly—like many of his friends and family members—she is defiantly defending the Jell-O man and discrediting his accusers. Rashad, who played Cosby’s onscreen wife Clair Huxtable for 12 years, held her tongue about the heat her costar is facing until earlier this week. The actress told Showbiz 411’s Roger Friedman, “What you’re seeing is the destruction of a legacy ... I don’t know why or who’s doing it, but it’s the legacy. Read More
