  4th Annual Brooklyn Pie Contest on January 23rd! Presented by Brooklyn Homesteader at The Bedford. The funds raised at this event will benefit, Growing Chefs, a field to fork educational program.   For the pie contest, the rules are as follows: 1. You must make the pie crust yourself, FROM SCRATCH! 2. Pizza pies do not count. We love them, but it's not the same thing at all...Sorry! No pizza. 3. The first 50 pies in attendance will be judged.   Ladies, apparently we’ve been consuming delicious sugary treats without stopping to consider guy's feelings. Even worse, we’ve been tainting them with our cutesy designs and confections. But now thanks to the New York cupcake company Butch Bakery, men can satisfy their sugar tooth without having to jeopardize their masculinity. Owner David Arrick refuses to serve anything that looks remotely like the "frilly, pink-frosted, sprinkles-and-unicorns” cupcakes that us women like.
