Happy Friday BUSTies! The weekend is coming so we know there are tons of shows you need to catch up on, but before finishing up Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, here are a few stories you might have skipped this week:
1. Amy Schumer keeps it 100%, discussing the issue of not quite looking like Megan Fox or Kate Upton in a world where the fact that Beyonce may not have the skin of a newborn is considered news.
2. Looking for some Feminist swag to wear? Well we have ... Read More
In an age when un-retouched pictures of beautiful women are often considered scandalous, it can be kind of hard to keep up your own self-esteem. Yes, Beyoncé’s skin may not be perfectly ***Flawless, but who among us is without an occasional blemish? Looking "normal" is treated more and more like a deformity than simply being a human being (cellulite, stretch marks and acne, oh my!) and nobody can express how ridiculous this is better than the fierce ... Well, the word at least. Sorry, was that baiting?
Brilliant friend of BUST Amy Schumer and the rest of the folks at her show, Inside Amy Schumer, made a stand against Comedy Central’s skewed codification system for dicks and pussies -- “dick” is vernacular, “pussy” is profane -- and they won.
The obscenely funny creator and titular star of Inside Amy Schumer, who cast a spell on BUST’s cover this April/May, joined the ... Read More

To be completely honest, Joan Rivers was never my favorite comedienne. Her hard-hitting jokes, told mostly at the expense of famous others (when they weren’t at her own expense) were too sharp-tongued for my taste. I thought of Rivers as overly venomous, sometimes tactless, and largely inappropriate.
It wasn’t until I heard of her passing that I realized my latent admiration. In fact, it was the very dislike of her comedy that caused me to like her most; she ... Read More

Stop what you're doing right now! Lena Dunham has just announced her book tour for her upcoming collection of essays, out September 30th, entitled "Not That Kind of Girl." Cue celebratory dance and requisite trips to Barnes and Nobles around the country. As someone with experience camping out in bookstores for midnight releases (I'm lookin' at you Harry Potter's four through seven) I can confidently say this reading and Q&A will rank amongst the top. Tina ... Read More

BUST cover woman Amy Schumer truly is the master of comedic timing. In the wake of Mother's Day, only she could come up with a sketch for tonight's new episode of Inside Amy Schumer that covers an innocent topic--the technological generation gap--with such fierce wit.
The sketch is as much about moms as it is technology. Schumer pinpoints all those wonderfully cringeworthy things moms do: touch your hair and clothes without your permission, ask for ... Read More

Amy Schumer usually makes us laugh so hard we cry, but this time she's moved us to tears. At the Gloria Awards and Gala hosted by the Ms. Foundation for Women, the comedian showed off her usual sharp observational skills and witty storytelling in order to communicate a powerful message of self-esteem. She delves into a coming-of-age anecdote, detailing the relatable feeling of confidence and power draining away as she grew up into a woman increasingly valued only ... Read More

When comedian Liza Dye of NYC's Upright Citizens Brigade was struck by a B train on February 13, the New York Post said she was nothing more than a "straphanger" who didn't have her wits about her.
In fact, the opposite is true. The very witty Liza Dye was not even looking at her phone that morning. Actually, she's so witty that she even joked with the passengers whose train she inadvertently delayed: "I'm sorry I made you late for work!" If you were in the New ... Read More

Is that a list in your pants, or are you just happy to see me? Irony has rooted itself in our culture, and now it's taken hold of our sex lives.
Dating and sex can be awkward for everyone, but a little determination goes a long way. It's best to be pragmatic about these things. The world, and the internet currently attempting to swallow it whole, is full of misinformation, theories, and most of all, lists.
The sex tips in beauty magazines usually end up more ... Read More
