  A press release featuring a new line of lingerie in the style of Victoria’s Secret made its way onto the web this week, featuring a slew of slogans and phrases heralding the importance of communication and consent between sexual partners. And while it would be lovely to imagine that this is evidence of Victoria’s Secret responding to recent criticism by making an effort to push a consent-based message, the phantom line of panties appears to be an unaffiliated knockoff. Victoria’s Secret—always a feminist favorite—recently decided to add a dash of racism to their usual objectification roster. Their new line, called “Go East,” features lots of what they call “touches of eastern delight.” I don’t think that there’s necessarily wrong with a clothing company, or a lingerie company, incorporating some pretty Japanese-style flowers. Remember when we told you about model Katie Halchishick’s Healthy is the New Skinny movement? Well, despite her upcoming nuptials and dozens of photoshoots, this 26-year-old shows no signs of slowing down. On Monday, Halchishick launched a body-positivity project that's getting both men and women talking. It all started with a simple Facebook posting placing the slim Victoria’s Secret models side by side with the women featured in Dove’s Real Beauty campaign. Read More
The people over at Retronaut unearthed these photos from a 1979 Victoria’s Secret catalogue. Despite the loveliness of these ladies, is it just me or is there something about this spread that's reminiscent of 30 Rock’s “1-900-OK-FACE” sex hotline clip starring Tina Fey as “Bijou?"
