Finally!  In a commercial that’s currently got more than one million views on YouTube, a special edition Moschino Barbie ad features a young boy playing with the “fierce!” doll.   Fashion designer Jeremy Scott came up with the design for the ad, and the young fauxhawked boy in the commercial was based on him. Scott told CBS in an email statement, “When I dreamed up the concept for the Moschino Barbie fauxmercial, I felt it was natural to have a little boy representing for all the little boys like myself who played with Barbies growing up. With Target coming forth in its decision to move away from gender-based signs, the world is one step closer in the battle for across-the-boards equality. Like any battle, there are two sides: those in favor of Target's decision and those who just cannot.  She can't. UGH. Absolutely, 100% unable to even. Caitlyn Jenner is behind this now. Read More
Target has decided to take another progressive leap by throwing out the “boys’” and “girls’” labels on toys, home goods, and entertainment items. Instead, they will switch to using the gender-neutral label “kids’” in these sections of the store. This decision comes after the store says customers raised concerns about unnecessary gender-based signs. Read More

It's no secret that we live in a world where the media constantly, repeatedly, over and over and over again (do you get the idea?) forces one narrow idea of ‘beauty’ in our faces. Last year, Victoria’s Secret made the mistake of marketing that image as the “perfect body,” and naturally, people got upset. First of all, as a culture we’d probably all benefit from erasing the word “perfect” from our vocabulary. Read More
Though it might be tempting to bolt into the nearest Forever 21 on payday to buy inexpensive trendy garb in bulk for some good old fashioned instant gratification, the Slow Fashion Movement urges you to do otherwise. The term, 'slow fashion,' first introduced by eco-friendly fashion consultant and author Kate Fletcher, is representative of both sustainable and ethical practices as they relate to fashion design, manufacturing and consumption, and provides an environmentally-friendly alternative to 'fast' fashion, (i.e. Read More
Are there boring and/or fugly hand-me-down pillows inhabiting your basement and closet that you just can’t seem to find a home for anywhere in your apartment? Don’t toss them out, and don’t submit to the wallet-draining prices at Pier 1 Imports, Target, and Ikea. Thanks to Tip Junkie, even the most revolting looking pillow can be re-vamped without any sewing or measuring, for a fraction of the cost of buying a new one. If you don’t have a pillow to make over, your local craft store should carry plain, white pillows for all your crafty pursuits. Read More
Target’s newest collaboration has us itching to raid the kid’s section. Aptly titled Kid Made Modern, the collection is a real departure for Target’s designer partnerships. Kid Made Modern is the brainchild of Todd Oldham, friend of and sometime photographer for BUST, and it’s a collection of art supplies and craft kits that are intended for youngins but are cool enough for the post-pubescent, too. Kid Made Modern offers supplies for artists in a variety of media: felt, duct tape, paint sets, glitter glue, crazy crayons and more. Read More
