I have to admit, it's a little difficult to write a review about someone I have admired and followed since I first got into stand-up comedy. I still remember the first time I saw comedian Sarah Silverman perform live back home at a show in Manchester, New Hampshire, and I knew all her jokes and delivery by heart so well I could say them along with her. I recently watched Silverman’s HBO special We are Miracles (released November 2013) before getting to listen to the album version, which just came out September 23 in the US on Sub Pop. Read More

To be completely honest, Joan Rivers was never my favorite comedienne. Her hard-hitting jokes, told mostly at the expense of famous others (when they weren’t at her own expense) were too sharp-tongued for my taste. These past few weeks, I am 100% pro-Sarah Silverman! From her response to the roast of James Franco to her touching tribute to her dog, she's making it hard to decide if I want to be her or if I want to be making out with her. Now, SS is adding to her street cred with an appearance in Psychic Friend's new music video for "We Do Not Belong."
In the video, Silverman plays a girl in a mental hospital who, despite doctors' various treatments, remains unresponsive. It is after she catches a clip of people dancing that one doctor makes a connection that could get Silverman out of her shell. Read More
