I was a little apprehensive to see Sandra Bullock’s Gravity when it hit theaters two weekends ago. Since I’m prone to panic attacks, I didn’t think it was suitable for me to watch a movie where a woman is stuck in space, but despite my feelings, I was completely blown away by Bullock’s performance. As a scared doctor, who didn’t fully know how to handle her space shuttle’s equipment, Bullock’s character was completely autonomous and totally kicked ass. Carmen Sandiego, the glamorous detective turned traveling thief, is a cartoon lady I hold near and dear to my heart (I totally learned a lot from her!) so I'm not sure if I'm excited or annoyed to hear a live-action version starring Jennifer Lopez might be in the works. Walden Media has acquired rights to Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego? and are in talks to have Jennifer Lopez play the main character. As of right now, she's only officially attached to the project as producer though. Read More
Forbes Magazine has just released its annual list of “The 100 Most Powerful Celebrities” and it appears the past year was particularly good for Hollywood’s most talented and versatile ladies.
Raking in a ridiculous $315 million from her media empire, the one and only Oprah Winfrey kicked Angelina Jolie out of the No. 1 spot to reclaim her throne.
She’s followed by Beyonce at No. 2 who earned $87 million largely due to her endorsement deals with like a hundred different companies and ability to poop out infectious pop songs every other month. Read More
