Ever since I became a full-fledged fangirl for Tweens, I’ve been dying to hear anything and everything from the trashy punk-rock Cincinnati trio. Their doo-wop-inspired songs and teenage angst-y lyrics will make you want to dance your heart out and then crash your ex-boyfriend’s house party. Now they’ve released a video for “Forever,” a garage-pop track about feeling just a little anxious about commitment. Though the video is far from that serious of subject matter: it’s the high school prom you wish you’d gone to. Read More
Upset has the makings for being one of the best bands out there right now and surprise, surprise: they totally are. Everything nice = Jen, Courtney, and Sydney, the chillest gals this side of the continent. Read More

She’s a seamstress, a foodie, a scholar, a singer, a lyricist, a thrift store enthusiast, and all-around awesome lady. She’s been performing since she was a kid and formed Perfect Pussy after a stint in her noisy trio, Shoppers. It hasn’t even been a year since their debut EP I have lost all desire for feeling was released, but Perfect Pussy has gained notoriety pretty quickly and for good reason. Read More
I’ve found my new musical crush in Sharkmuffin, an all-female noise-punk trio from Brooklyn whose third EP 1097 debuts this month. If their first two EPs were humble admissions of guilt, 1097 is the realization that they were right all along—a giant ‘fuck you’ to whoever pissed them off personally or politically. Read More
