If you haven't fantasized about having a bestie like Amy Poehler, then you're lying to yourself. Finally, in an interview with Vulture, she has revealed to the masses just what it takes to be deemed worthy of late-night texting marathons and corny birthday presents:
"Money, connections, power, sexiness, thick hair, fast cars, a sweet-ass booty, and a desire to travel. All those things."
Admittedly, her standards are pretty high, but I'd do it all to have just one mall montage scene with her.
"I haven't been able to find one person that meets that criteria. Read More

Big news about “America’s happy warrior” and newly re-elected VP Joe Biden — he’s going to guest star on Parks and Recreation!
If you’re not as obsessed with Parks and Rec as you should be (Seriously. Go watch every single episode right now, that show is perfect), you might not know that Amy Poehler’s character Leslie Knope is in love with Biden. He’s the single entry on her celebrity sex list, and she once said that her dream man would have “the brain of George Clooney and the body of Joe Biden. Read More

Actress Aubrey Plaza’s naturally deadpan personality is so entertaining, the role of April Ludgate on Parks and Recreation was based entirely on her dry wit and trademark sullen stare. Here, the up-and-coming Hollywood hotshot opens up about funny women, famous feminists, and facing death
“What’s my cover line gonna say?” Aubrey Plaza asks as we walk down a sun-drenched Los Angeles street after a leisurely weekday brunch. Read More

It didn't help that I saw the ironically titled Celeste and Jesse Forever post break-up, so consider that a warning. If the humor hadn't consisted of jacking off with a piece of baby corn and a gay Elijah Wood, I would have desperately sought out the theater's nearest exit to escape the sweaty interior of the on-screen friendship. Thank goddess some people are just as perverted as I am.
Celeste (Rashida Jones) and Jesse (Andy Samberg) are a couple in the process of a divorce that can't seem to stay away from each other. Read More

Some of you in the NYC area may have noticed Amy Poehler at the 92Y on our Hot Dates calendar a few weeks ago, and hopefully a lucky few were able to catch the Parks and Recreation funny lady crack some jokes and talk about the importance of improv comedy to her life and her career, how much she loves her Parks and Rec castmates, (hint: she'd both take a bullet for them and sleep with them), and that time she played Dorothy in a 4th grade production of The Wizard of Oz. Today is the day when my personal favorite and BUST-featured deadpan actress extraordinaire was born: Aubrey Plaza. In honor of her day of birth, here's a playlist of clips that detail what I think Aubrey's doing on her birthday.
You need to a flashplayer enabled browser to view this video
First, Aubrey is probably going to receive a lot of gifts from other people. But if there's one lesson that her show Parks and Recreation taught us, it's this: treat yo self. So on her birthday, she'll probably hit up a couple places in order to find the perfect gift to herself. Read More

For many of you, summer means lazy days at the park, beach, or rooftop. (Or, as Dr. Spaceman once prescribed for Liz, "a little R&R. Rum and Ritalin.") For me, it means another three months of summer reruns. It also means that the major TV networks are finalizing and announcing fall lineups and dragging me down a hole of anxiety, relief, and disappointment. (It’s possible I’m far too emotionally invested in TV. Read More

It’s a Wednesday afternoon and seeing as though you’ve chosen to neglect whatever it is that you should be doing, you could probably use a dose of some female-friendly humor.
So here’s an extended clip from the past season of Parks & Recreation.
In the episode, Leslie insists that the gals tag along on the department's annual boys-only hunting trip. It turns out, she's quite the skilled hunter and is able to catch the first quail of the trip (much to Ron's dismay). When Ron ends up getting shot in the head, she takes the fall for Tom. Read More
