EAGLE AND TALON

BY Web Intern in General

Thracian, the new album from Eagle and Talon, is here! It was worth the wait. Check it now on itunes, or at your local record store on the October 23rd. My favorite L.A. lady rockers will play at Public Assembly in Brooklyn on the 21st. I can't wait to dance like the angry teenager I am ... Read More
Our favorite French mademoiselle (and former BUST cover girl) Charlotte Gainsbourg has been making a splash the past few weeks in the new Lars Von Trier film Antichrist, and now she's back with the new single 'IRM' from her forthcoming album of the same name. The album, produced by our favorite Scientologist Beck, drops next February. Head on over to her website for a free download of the title track, and look for the first official single 'Heaven Can Wait' soon! ... Read More
Cute? Yes. That's obvious. But the best word to describe Slingshot Dakota goes deeper than what's on the surface: it's passionate. Passionate about doing what they love. Passionate about supporting their friends. Passionate about making a difference. Get the idea? Sure, Slingshot can easily hook you in with their poppy tunes and adorableness. But there's so much more behind the blast of sound created by an amped up Yamaha keyboard, a deafeningly loud drum set, ... Read More
Gabba Gabba Hey! Guess what? It's The Ramones Museum in Berlin's first Birthday!  A celebration is definitely in order, cause it's the only museum in the world dedicated to our favorite ripped-blue-jeans clad punk rockers. Museum founder Flo Hayler collected Ramones memorabilia for over 18 years, spending his hard earned euros on everything from original copies of famous photographs to a pair of Johnny's Levis.  That is, until his girlfriend ... Gaga or Madonna?

BY Laurie in General

Who would you rather hang out with? While I am the last person in the world to have anything good to say about pop music, radio songs, or whatever it is you want to call it, after watching Gag's and Madge goofing around on SNL , I started thinking about the old and the new, and tho I've never been a fan of their music, you've gotta hand it to these ladies for making BIG strides in the business on their own merit. I started compiling my lists of the pros and ... Read More
Check out the video (made by Katy of the VG's) of our day at the haunted house in the country shooting our Nancy Drew inspired fashion story. If you love Nancy Drew, and the Vivian Girls like we do, you have to check out the issue- out now on ... Read More
A friend of mine has been trying to get me into La Roux for several months now, and I just kept saying no. The music was too cutesy, her voice was annoying, and I had enough Europop on my iPod already. But this week, thanks to a free iTunes download of the single 'Bulletproof,' I'm ready to stop denying it and admit that I'm totally hooked. La Roux is made up of epically-coiffed singer Elly Jackson and synth-player/producer Ben Langmaid. Their ... Read More
Do you know what happened yesterday? The Madonna: Celebration DVD dropped. Okay, so if you're not as big of a Madonna fan as I am, you probably weren't looking forward to this event as much as I was. I had it marked on my calendar: buy Madonna DVD! I didn't even wait until after work was over -- I bought it on my lunch hour and proudly displayed it to my fellow interns upon my return. They were, um, not quite as interested. But if you are a Madonna ... Read More
The Swedish band Fever Ray made their US debut at Webster Hall last night, and Karin Dreijer and company did not disappoint. The set was very dark, the performers hidden mostly by smoke machine and shadow, while lasers beamed across the room and audience, and a few table lamps pulsed a dim orange glow on stage. From where I was standing (it was hard to see anything) it looked like Karin was wearing what I can only describe as a small African hut that she was ... Read More

Fever Ray comes to NY

BY Laurie in General

Personally, my most anticipated show of the year is happening Monday night here in NY, Fever Ray! She's playing Webster Hall, and there may be a handful of tickets left for the tuesday show. I hear she puts on quite a spooky spectacle, I am nerding out on this chick! In case you're not familiar, watch her here. Or read our interview with the lady behind the mask in our Aug/September issue. + + + + + + ... Read More
