Apparently Amber Rose’s work with feminist powerhouse Amy Schumer is no coincidence: The model recently told Cosmopolitan that the Internet has transformed her into her own “feminist monster,” and her activism combating slut-shaming proves that she’s trying to become the real deal.
What got her so engaged? Social media, she tells Cosmo—more specifically, Khloe Kardashian and ex-boyfriend Kanye West’s digs at her stripper past. Read More

Still not sure about the technical differences between a remix and a rework, but Kanye has done the latter to Lorde’s first single off of the Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I soundtrack that she both contributed to and curated. The New Zealand teen’s sparky “Yellow Flicker Beat” that was released earlier this fall, has been reduced to “Flicker,” but the haunting synths are even more absorbing. I’d say it’s the culinary kind of reduction that makes a sauce thicker. Read More

“Have you ever been to Paris? Neither have I. Neither have I.”
Those are still the lyrics to Lizzo’s LIZZOBANGERS track, “Paris,” but they are not longer true for the rapper, whose debut album was named #1 Album of 2013 by us here at BUST.
With roots in Houston and Detroit, but now based in the Twin Cities, Lizzo told Jay-Z’s Life+Times that when she wrote the song, she had never in fact been to Paris. Read More

So Kanye West gets on stage at the Wireless Festival London 2014 and starts talking to the audience about how invasive the paparazzi is. Seems normal and totally not insensitive and non-abusive at all, right?
Well, then Mr. West compares the feeling of not wanting to be photographed in public with being raped. He says the following, "Sex is great with you and your partner. But if one of the people don't want to do that, what is that called? That's called rape. That's called violation. Read More

Angel Haze and Ireland Baldwin have CONFIRMED that they are dating! The 22-year-old rapper and the 18-year-old model (daughter of Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger) were first introduced at this past New York Fashion Week and have been together ever since. But, Haze seems to think that media has a problem with interracial lesbian couples.
Haze, who is performing at Glastonbury with Kanye West this weekend, has been challenging Hip-Hop’s misogyny by simply existing. And now, she seems to be challenging the American Media’s viewpoints on girl-on-girl couples. Read More

In the Disney Channel factory, they manufacture young actor-singer-hyrbids faster and with more precision than one of Will.I.Am’s crazy new 3-D printers -- creating perfectly adorable, multitalented camera-ready creatures that can not only cry on cue, but can also sing, dance and hype the crowd in a rhinestone-encrusted ensemble accompanied with a matching wireless headset microphone.
However, not all celebrities were created with these duel abilities, they can’t all be Hannah Montana (RIP). Read More
Kanye West’s new “Bound 2” video has been criticized for featuring a nude Kim Kardashian, with whom he suggestively canoodles. To be blunt, it seems a lot like she’s just there for some eye-candy. But Flavorwire’s Lillian Ruiz would disagree, suggesting that Kanye’s portrayal of female sexuality is “unusually complex” because “there is no Madonna and no whore in this narrative. Read More

According to US Weekly, Kim Kardashian has confessed that, “I dress for my man way more than for myself!” Sigh. Apparently, the only thing Kanye West loves more than dressing up in kilts and making TSwift cry is outfitting Kim in “cool, drapey things.” While Kim isn’t necessarily a groundbreaking fashion plate, it’s never fun to see a powerful woman being pushed around by her significant other. Besides, West, whose 2011 Paris Fashion Week Line received almost unanimous criticism, isn’t exactly posed to give anyone sartorial tips. Read More

Azealia Banks, the formerly small-time badass rapper from Harlem, is making some big things happen. Most recently, Banks banged out some tunes with a couple big names in the biz.
In an interview with Brazil’s Mix TV, Banks confirmed rumors that she has been working with Lady Gaga, but explained that, oddly enough, the two collaborated “from afar” via the Internet.
“We have a song called ‘Red Flame’ and we also have a song called ‘Ratchet,’” Banks told a reporter from Mix TV. “I don’t know what she’s doing with it. Read More

This past Tuesday was the Rodarte show. The location was top secret and wasn't revealed to the anyone until Monday morning. A little bird texted me the location (a telegram, a bird song and smoke signals would've take way too long). I made my way over to what I consider one of the best and most important shows during New York fashion week to take some street style photos.
Per usual, larger images here.
