When 16-year-old Lily-Rose Depp came out as sexually fluid on Instagram in August, the Internet was surprised - but her dad wasn’t.
Johnny Depp talked about Lily-Rose in a recent interview with the Daily Mail, and it’s kind of adorable how much he had to say about his daughter’s success. Lily-Rose is an up-and-coming actress and model: after appearing in a small role in the Kevin Smith film Tusk, she’ll star in his next movie, Yoga Hosers, out in January 2016, and she has several other films in the works - including one in which she plays Isadora Duncan. In case you’ve never heard of it, Into the Woods is basically the best musical ever. Literally. It is a work of genius born from the genius of the ever-magnificent Stephen Sondheim and bestowed upon our world as a heavenly gift.
Just to be clear, I’ve never actually seen it performed live on Broadway. I have, however, seen a film of its original, 1987 Broadway run (which featured total legend, Bernadette Peters as the witch). Read More

Catwoman is my favorite superhero (or villain, depending on how you see her), but Batman is a close second. Before Marvel, DC Comics was the premier comic book empire, producing the ever-compelling Superman comics. When Marvel entered the scene, the came out with less “All American” and boy scout-y characters, embracing the more dark and twisted side to heroism. We saw pain and personal motives in the Marvel characters, and we liked it. Read More

Everyone knows Tim Burton would much rather focus on the visual elements of his filmmaking than on insignificant trifles like plot, character development, and cohesion. This is especially true of his latest fantasia, Dark Shadows, but that doesn’t keep the film from being a spooky good time. Read More
