Injustice takes many forms in our society, and one of its most cruel is our legal system's treatment of rape victims. Not only is rape under prosecuted and devastatingly traumatic, the victim often seems to be offered little in terms of closure. Currently in the United States, there is an estimated 400,000 rape kits that remain untested; that is 400,000 people (mostly women) denied the opportunity to seek out justice for the crime committed against them. Wooow, Obama is on a roll! First, he placed pressure on the Education Department to confront schools that mishandle sexual abuse claims AND THEN he released this awesome campaign to address sexual assault statistics! Even better: this PSA is gonna get a ton of air time on TV, in movie theaters and even in military installations. Everyone is gonna get educated!
Obama, Joe Biden, Steve Carell, Daniel Craig, Benicio Del Toro, Dule Hill and Seth Meyers are like knights in shining armor during this PSA. Read More

Phyllis Gould, 91, is one seriously awesome lady. As one of the original members of the “Rosie the Riveters”, she has been working since the Clinton Administration to receive White House recognition for the original “Rosies” and their indispensable contributions during WWII.
And, luckily for us, Vice President Joe Biden is the first politician to ever respond and invite a group of six women (including Gould) to the White House for a “long overdue honor. Read More

Big news about “America’s happy warrior” and newly re-elected VP Joe Biden — he’s going to guest star on Parks and Recreation!
If you’re not as obsessed with Parks and Rec as you should be (Seriously. Go watch every single episode right now, that show is perfect), you might not know that Amy Poehler’s character Leslie Knope is in love with Biden. He’s the single entry on her celebrity sex list, and she once said that her dream man would have “the brain of George Clooney and the body of Joe Biden. Read More

The election is over, and there are plenty of reasons to celebrate! Besides the re-election of President Barack Obama and “America’s happy warrior” Vice President Joe Biden, this election saw the legalization of gay marriage in Maine and Maryland, the legalization of marijuana in Washington and Colorado, and more women elected to the Senate than ever before. I hope you spent last night cheering and hugging random strangers in a bar, but even if you didn’t, here are 10 reasons to get really, really, really excited about the election results:

It’s that time of election year again: the time for presidential debates. The debates may have you screaming angrily at your TV screen, but they can also be hilarious, especially if you keep Twitter and Tumblr open while you watch. From Biden’s “Malarkey!” to Romney’s binders full of women, here are the top 10 memes from the past three presidential and vice presidential debates:
10. Badass Moderator Martha Raddatz

Watching the debate last night, we couldn't help but notice a lot of similarities between the Presidential/Vice-Presidential debates and the always-entertaining Real Housewives of New Jersey reunions.
1. They get in each other's faces. Who would even want to watch a Real Housewives of New Jersey reunion in which they don't get in each other's faces?!
2. They call each other liars. Even Candy Crowley backed Obama up when Romney was spewing inaccuracies.
3. They ignore the moderator (whether it be Candy Crowley or Andy Cohen, they will not be silenced). Read More

The GOP has been incredibly disconnected from women lately, but there’s one area where that could be a good thing: the vice presidential debates.
Vice President Joe Biden is a sassy bitch. When someone says something stupid, he chuckles and shakes his head in a way that makes me want to hang my head in vicarious shame for the offender, or point and laugh, depending on who we’re talking about.
And bless his sassy bitch heart, but Biden didn’t quite know how to handle Sarah Palin during the last vice presidential debate. He grinned widely while she babbled nonsense, sure. Read More
