The Australian dance-pop singer will join musical forces with the long-haired, averse-to-shirts Stooges front-man this Christmas to cover “Christmas Wrapping,” by new-wave Ohio band The Waitresses, on her album Kylie Christmas. The tune is not a Christmas staple but a lesser-known tune that Pitchfork’s Lindsay Zoladz calls a “deliriously catchy, still-unavoidable holiday anthem.” It’s a bizarre-looking combo if nothing else and might sound equally as odd, but possibly odd enough to work. We love Iggy Pop, and the video promos that he's been making for the brand new Stooges album, Ready to Die, are really cute.
In this one, the adorable 66 year old visits 3 psychics and they all predict his success, with one who gets specific and tells him he will live to be 93. Sounds about right, considering he's young at heart, and keeps in shape by bouncing around on stage, practicing Qi Gong and swimming. Iggy is a kind and sweet guy, and his personality really comes out on camera. Read More
What happens when you team up punk-rock legend Iggy Pop and surf-pop darling Bethany Cosentino? You get a rockin’ track that’s a little gritty, a little sweet, and utterly infectious. The forefather of punk rock and the Best Coast front woman were approached to collaborate on a song that premiered on air this past Sunday in the new episode of HBO's True Blood, and really dug the idea. And if that’s not ambitious enough, her project is already taking on a second year of operation.
After Jackson finishes a piece, she posts it on her website for viewers to comment on and ask questions about. But Jackson isn’t just whipping up your average vintage embroidery catalog pieces. Read More
In random beauty and fashion news, Iggy Pop is officially the face of Paco Rabanne's newest fragrances, Black XS L’Excès. The fragrances will include versions for both men and women and will debut in France starting in January. The highly-anticipated commercial featuring Iggy and created by seasoned music video director, Jonas Ackerlund, will soon be appearing on TV and in movie theaters alike.
I like how menacing Iggy looks in this photo. I have no idea what this fragrance will smell like, but I'm totally sold already. Maybe it's those magical gold pants he's wearing.. Read More

You know the old saying, “behind every good man, there’s a good woman…” well in the example of All Tomorrow’s Parties Festival founder Barry Hogan, that is certainly the case, and the woman in question is Deborah Kee Higgins, his wife and Australian transplant who has been working behind the scenes with him at ATP since 2004. ATP, founded in 1999, is a different kind of rock festival, usually on the small, more intimate side, but one that attracts A-List rock icons and music fans that want a different kind of experience.
