Beloved reality TV show star, Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson, showed her love for the LGBTQIA community via Instagram yesterday. Alana's handmade "NO H8" sign, written on a Holiday Inn post-it, demonstrates how easy it is to share the love in our hearts and step away from quick, unnecessary judgement. Her words may not cohere with the most up-to-date terminologies, but it's a stride in the right direction! Go Honey Boo Boo!

If you’ve ever seen Toddlers & Tiaras, you’ve probably noticed that its allure lies in large part in our society’s obsession with what many consider to be unnatural or freakish. The beauty pageants shown take female beauty ideals to a upsetting extreme of sexualized infancy; toddlers parade on stage in Pretty Woman’s prostitute outfit and the like, wearing heavy make-up and fake adult teeth. In an effort to halt the "hypersexualization" of young girls, the French upper house has voted to pass a proposal that would outlaw beauty contests for girls under 16, with penalties for breaking the law ranging from fines to jail time.
The ban would put an end to events like France's Mini Miss contest, which, much like our own Toddler's and Tiaras, even has its own reality TV series. (Although, from the images on the show's website, this particular contest seems to be more guilty of the ridiculouzation, rather than sexualization, of little girls. Read More

There has been a whole lot of buzz since Sunday night’s Oscars. Several websites, interviews, and news sources have expressed outrage over Seth MacFarlane’s sexist comments and his now infamous boob song. (Thanks Seth, I can’t get that stupid, douchey song out of my head.) I guess he made his point if everyone can’t stop talking about him.
But one of the most outrageous scandals from the Oscars is the infamous Onion tweet calling the cutest kid in Hollywood, Quvenzhané Wallis, a cunt. Totally appropriate, right?
