This year, 34 women were added to the 2013 Forbes list of the world’s wealthiest people. Although this is definitely a step up (you go girls), the majority of the list is made up of men. Of the 1,426 people on the new 2013 Forbes list of the World’s Billionaires, a whopping 138 are women. Awesome. When I first read that Hanes was asking women to reveal their underwear color, I was appalled. How dare the company invade women’s privacy like that? Turns out, it is a part of a new marketing campaign; surprisingly, a marketing campaign I see as pretty progressive and even feminist.

The lady supergeek is taking over! Is it any surprise that women have the genius brains behind some of the world’s coolest programs and gadgets? Nope. But is it nice to see them get recognized? Hell yes. Forbes’ list of The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women was released yesterday, with one in six women coming from the world of technology.
Facebook’s Sheryl Sandberg is the highest-ranking tech chick, followed by IBM’s Virginia Rometty, Xerox’s Ursula Burns, and HP’s Meg Whitman. Read More

Past BUST cover girl and star of this year’s TV hit New Girl, Zooey Deschanel, recently added another shiny badge to her accomplishment vest: member of Forbes magazine’s Celebrity 100 list. The list highlights the “world’s most powerful celebrities” by assessing their monetary value and influence on the business world.
Ms. Deschanel is nothing short of a huge influence in the latter category. She’s a musician, actress, and producer, making her a triple-threat in the entertainment sphere. Read More
