In association with the Farm Sanctuary , Katcher will be demonstrating how you can replace everyday food items with vegan ones, thereby helping the environment and helping yourself become healthy. Joshua will be doing 'Vegan Cooking 101', a lot of Q and A, specifically addressing each farm animal, and how to replace those foods in everyday cooking. Read More
New Yorkers, it's time to go hungry for the hungry. On May 6, skip lunch (or bring something from home) and donate your daily food moola to City Harvest , which helps feed hungry New Yorkers, especially children. It's part of the Skip Lunch Fight Hunger campaign. You can register to participate as a team or an individual. Teams will get a kit with paper lunch bags so that members can go out on the sixth to collect donations. Last year they raised about $500,000 and this year they've made their goal $600,000. It's already Passover! Can you believe it? This year I'm home in NYC instead of doing the whole seder thing with the fam in VA, so I thought I'd start my own little tradition by having my girl band over for a night of home style Jewish cooking and a spirited screening of The Ten Commandments . Whew, SXSW is kind of the most exhausting thing ever. I even lost my voice today. Not only is there so much to see and do and you always feel like you are missing something, but there's also a lot of stress and pressure to meet people and make moves.
