  Get ready for the woman with coolest name ever: Jazz Domino Holly! It gets better though; Holly is an empowered crafter who’s launched a new book called Queen of Crafts. Not to mention she’s also the daughter of punk rock legend Joe Strummer of the Clash. Her new book covers everything from knitting and quilting to baking and preserving, and she insists that all of her crafts are quick, "faddy," and affordable. With the Philly Naked Bike Ride and fall’s SlutWalk Providence quickly approaching, I needed something glitzy to complete my event attire - or non-attire. Yeah, yeah, it’s called ‘Naked’ Bike Ride, but it’s also an opportunity to wear nipple tassels and pasties and prance around in public. Since I don’t have the funds for the fancy stuff (like these babies from Agent Provocateur), I rolled up my sleeves and crafted my own no-sew nipple tassels. They’re easy to make, and your wallet won't go running for the toilet. Read More
Kimberly Ellen Hall has been teaching people to knit in exchange for their first projects since 2007. Now, her collection of scarves made by people who have never knit before have earned an exhibit all of their own at the Textile Arts Center from November 5- December 16. Her inspiration for this project is truly lovely; "I learned to knit while I was struggling with a project about luck. I made all sorts of printed pieces with images of items considered lucky: pickles, frogs, black-eyed peas, the number 7, eggs, and so on. But none of the finished pieces felt truly lucky to me.
