Stacey Dash commented on Rita Wilson’s new video about the gender wage gap, and her response is so much more awkward that you could imagine. Sitting across from Meredith Vieira, Dash is quite perceptibly uncomfortable. In between sweeping her hair out of her face and appearing not to breathe, she explains to viewers why she’s not a fan of the MakeItFair video. Now this isn’t because of celebrity drama or something that would make more sense. The reason why she’s not a fan is... well, she doesn’t think the gender wage gap is real problem. Read More

In the Disney Channel factory, they manufacture young actor-singer-hyrbids faster and with more precision than one of Will.I.Am’s crazy new 3-D printers -- creating perfectly adorable, multitalented camera-ready creatures that can not only cry on cue, but can also sing, dance and hype the crowd in a rhinestone-encrusted ensemble accompanied with a matching wireless headset microphone.
However, not all celebrities were created with these duel abilities, they can’t all be Hannah Montana (RIP). Read More

You're like, a total spaz if you weren't seriously obsessed with Cher's magical computer-organized closet in Clueless. It's disappointing to think that the film is nearly 20 years old and Ikea STILL hasn't come up with anything remotely similar. But what's this? A light in the distance? It would appear the wonderful world of technology has smiled upon us mere plebes: Cher's style system is now iPhone compatible! Check out these apps and quit, like, buggin' out, okay?

This week the New York Film Academy blog released a study on gender inequality in the film industry, presenting some truly dire statistics about women both in front of and behind the camera. The data is drawn from the top 500 movies of the past five years and comes in the form of a series of infographics that showcase just how unbalanced the industry really is.
First there’s the familiar information: women are much more likely than men to be shown onscreen partially naked or in revealing clothing. Read More

We recently reported that Amy Heckerling’s brand new film, Vamps, will hit theaters on November 2, which means that Clueless—the film that made her a star— has been pushed back into the spotlight. (AS IF we needed a reason to celebrate the 1995 smash hit.) In fact, last week’s edition of Entertainment Weekly brings the cast together to answer some of our most burning questions about what it was like be a part of the movie.
The stars talk about their favorite moments, what the movie means to them, and what they’re up to now. Read More

Amy Heckerling is the greatest. Not only is she responsible for national treasures like Clueless (1995) and Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982), but she is one of the few female directors working in Hollywood, period. As an aspiring movie-maker, her awesomely quirky comedies give me a reason to get up in the morning. So when I saw that the trailer for her new movie Vamps (2012) had been released, I flipped out. By Kase Wickman“Just keep it in your room.” That’s what For a Good Time, Call... co-star/co-writer/co-producer Lauren Anne Miller told her then-roommate, Katie Anne Naylon, when Naylon admitted that she held a job as a phone sex operator to earn cash. Nowadays, Miller and Naylon are far from their Florida State University dorm room, but they're still making dirty talk pay: For a Good Time, Call... is loosely based on Naylon’s former occupation, and stars Miller (playing a fictionalized version of herself also named Lauren) and Ari Graynor (who plays Katie in the movie). I've seen costume ideas everywhere I turn from blogs and websites to magazines and movies. I've also seen and helped people put together some awesome looking costumes at the vintage store I work for as well. This year, I've decided to be a Pan Am stewardess. To be honest, I kind of already dress like a 60's stewardess or secretary most of the time so it's not too much of a stretch. I picked up a Pan Am bag recently and now I'm just trying to figure out a hat to pull it all together. I might end up making one out of construction paper or cardboard and felt. Read More
