Annie Clark looks like a character right out of Tim Burton’s dreams. With her porcelain skin, big doe eyes and lots of unruly curls it’s hard to look away. It’s also very easy to take her for granted as just another pretty face. But once Clark straps on her guitar she’s a force to be reckoned with.

Permanent Wave, we love you. The Brooklyn-based network of feminist artists and activists is on-point again, this time throwing a benefit show for the Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls. The show, which features bands PS XO, Mitten, Magnetic Island, and Desert Sharks, starts at 8:30 tonight.

Perhaps there are some of you out there who, like me, still don't quite know what "zine" means. No worries, here's a quick explanation: "zine" (pronounced zeehn) is short for magazine, but that doesn't fully capture the spirit of a zine.
