“I’m sorry I don’t know more about you!” Ellie Kemper says, baring her perfect teeth in a broad smile as we wrap up our lunch at Little Dom’s, an Italian place near her part-time home in Los Angeles. “That’ll be next time.” But after talking for nearly two hours over bread, salad, and piping hot arancini, she does know about me, because she asked—about where I live, my family, my dog, how I got into ... I only know two people who had the gall to admit to me that they didn't like Bridesmaids, and they're both dead to me. Just kidding. It was awkward though, when I told them that I got Rebel Wilson's character's “Mexican drinking worm” tattoo, NOT for free, as an everlasting tribute to the film's band of wisecracking ladies and they were totally unimpressed. Whatever, losers.
While they probably won't be too excited about the news that the ... Read More

Things have definitely been going well for the standup comedian and Inside Amy Schumer creator/star these days. In the past week, she’s divulged the name of her first movie, signed comedy mogul Judd Apatow to direct and produce it, and, this morning, officially announced her new standup tour, Amy Schumer’s Back Door Tour.
The tour kicks off in New York City on January 24th, and it will be hitting over 30 cities across the country. ... Read More

YOU GUYS. THE BEST THING HAS HAPPENED. As announced yesterday, NBC has ordered thirteen episodes of a new sitcom from TV/comedy/everything goddess Tina Fey.
Ellie Kemper from Bridesmaids and The Office is set to star as a woman who moves to New York following her escape from a doomsday cult, sooooooo this is probably going to be the greatest thing to grace the small screen in a while (or just...ever). The show, currently untitled, will debut next fall. And, though ... Read More

One of our favorite bridesmaids (and plus-sized clothing line designers!), Melissa McCarthy, has announced that she and her husband, Ben Falcone, will be directing a new movie, Tammy. It’s clear that the couple has no time to waste, as they recently began a production company called On the Day, with three films in the works already. Not only will McCarthy and Falcone direct the film, but they also wrote the script together. Tammy will star McCarthy as a ... Read More

By Kase Wickman“Just keep it in your room.” That’s what For a Good Time, Call... co-star/co-writer/co-producer Lauren Anne Miller told her then-roommate, Katie Anne Naylon, when Naylon admitted that she held a job as a phone sex operator to earn cash. Nowadays, Miller and Naylon are far from their Florida State University dorm room, but they're still making dirty talk pay: For a Good Time, Call... is loosely based on Naylon’s former occupation, and ... So rumors are aflutter that this will be Kristen Wiig's last season of SNL, as her contract is up this year. She has yet to confirm or deny this, but one can surmise that if she doesn't leave now, her departure remains imminent. And while I will be completely devastated when she does leave, listening to her Monday WNYC interview on "Here's the Thing with Alec Baldwin" had me in such a Surprise Party Sue state.
In case you didn't know -- which you may not, ... Read More

Hands up if you’ve seen Bridesmaids! OK, keep your hands up if you’ve seen it more than once. Trust me, you’re not alone. People all around the world—girls and guys alike—fell in love with the comedy film Bridesmaids last year. I’m sure many of them would love to see a sequel, too—that is, if you’re not too disillusioned by the fact that 90% of sequels are only half as good, at most, as the original. (Believe me, ... Frustrated at the lack of fashionable options for plus-size ladies, everyones favorite bridesmaid and one of the funniest SNL hosts in a long time (am I right?!), Melissa McCarthy, has decided to take matters into her own hands. “Trying to find stuff that’s still fashion-forward in my size is damn near impossible," she said. "It’s either for like a 98-year-old woman or a 14-year-old hooker, and there is nothing in the ... Read More

Remember just a few weeks ago, when everyone was so excited about Bridesmaids opening? And all those social networking efforts, including one here on our very own site, that were encouraging women to go out and see it on its opening weekend, so that it would do well at the box office, and we ladies could look forward to possibly getting another non-sucky movie about and for women in the next year or ten? And remember that the movie actually did do well at the box ... Read More
