Happy Halloween, Freaks!

BY Laurie in TV

One of my absolute favorite movies is on TCM tonight at 9, Freaks (1932), and it is so delightfully wrong, I promise you won't be able to tear yourself away. Set your Tivo's, as TCM is in the midst of 48 hours of great Horror flicks, including The Devil Doll, Mad Love and the original Cat People. Read More

All Joan, all the time

BY Laurie in TV

I don't want to discuss this weeks Mad Men in case some of you slackers are waiting to watch still, but I was happy to see a nice interview with Christina Hendricks, aka Joan Holloway in this Sunday's Post, Page Six. Click here for the interview where she discusses the problem of being a bodacious broad in Hollywood. 'No one will send me dresses,' she says. 'Designers loan size 2 or 4 samples to actresses, but I'm not that size. It's like I'm a freak because I'm curvy and I can't squeeze into those things. I've had some problems with that. Read More
I know most of you that read this blog don't care at all about this show. Which is totally understandable. I, however, will be watching every episode (or at least as long as my lil sis is still on).  She is the one in the tiara, Zui. My sister has always been pretty vain so this comes as no shocker to me (every time she visits me she brings a new picture of herself for my fridge). I am sure Paris loved her. Not only does she have insanely awesome style and an amazing weave but she's also hilarious. Read More

Tina wins again!

BY Laurie in TV

Congratulations to the always humble and forever adorable Tina Fey for winning her best lead actress Emmy last night, as well as wins for 30 Rock and Alec Baldwin. 'I thank my parents for somehow raising me to have confidence that is disproportionate with my looks and abilities. Well done. That is what all parents should do,' said Fey. Read More

Vampire Weekend

BY Laurie in TV

VS. HBO's True Blood airs this Sunday, and if you are into vampires, get ready for alot of uber violent shenanigans and sexual tension between the main characters played by Anna Paquin and Stepen Moyer. I saw the first two episodes and did not fall immediately in love, but its fun and I think I need to watch a few more episodes to get the full effect. The story is based on a book by Charlaine Harris, 'Southern Vampire,' and takes place in New Orleans where a Japanese company has invented synthetic blood, rendering the vampires 'safe' since they dont have to feed on humans. Turn Your Labia Into a Yaybia.

BY Callie in TV

I am kind of upset I didn't come up with some of those jokes. 'Turn your yeast infection into a jewel collection', that so could have been me that made that joke! I did give myself a good chuckle last night though. I went to the junk boat show I blogged about yesterday (my camera died but I will take some pictures of it soon, it will be docked all week and then it moves to Deitch) and someone asked me where my man piece was. My reply, 'I don't know, I am not my boners keeper'. Yea, I laugh at my own jokes. And I laugh at Clitter. Read More

New Drama. Same zipcode.

BY Tara in TV

So I gutted it out through the 2 hour premiere of 90210: the new season last night. Truly gut-wrenching, and not in a good way. I so fondly remember sneaking (yes, sneaking) to watch the original series, as everyone who's above the age of 18 does. So i promised myself that even if the new one sucked, i would watch it anyway. Holy vast disappointment! First of all, that Naomi chick drove me completely bonkers! What is with her? I can't put my finger on why I hate her so much, but I know it's not just cause her character is a total bitch. Something about her just irks me. Secondly, girls... Read More

"What's a Jitney?"

BY Laurie in TV

Chuck Bass just gets more foxy with each and every episode. Also loving the Nate and Mrs. Robinson storyline, since I have not seen Madchen since the Twin Peaks days. Read More
