I spent a good chunk of my weekend partying at the Governors Ball, the 3-day NYC music festival that featured performances by Icona Pop, Azealia Banks, Dirty Projectors, and Ms Mr. (And some semi-unknown dude musicians called Guns n’ Roses, Nas, Kings of Leon, and Kendrick Lamar.) And while I had an awesome time eating food on sticks and getting mild sun damage, I and all the other festival attendees had to contend with one especially annoying festival ... Read More

Azealia Banks, the formerly small-time badass rapper from Harlem, is making some big things happen. Most recently, Banks banged out some tunes with a couple big names in the biz.
In an interview with Brazil’s Mix TV, Banks confirmed rumors that she has been working with Lady Gaga, but explained that, oddly enough, the two collaborated “from afar” via the Internet.
“We have a song called ‘Red Flame’ and we also have a song called ... Read More

Azealia Banks is back with another video that’s bound to catch the attention of all those (like me) who had a stint of obsession with her video “212”, which went viral after its YouTube release a year ago. Her latest single “Luxury,” off her mixtape Fantasea, however, is a bit different than the others. Unlike her other previously released tracks like “212” and“L8R” this newest single lacks that fast, dirty rap that Banks has already ... Read More

Kreayshawn, the badass rapper who pumped swag out of her ovaries and meowed at us in her much-discussed 2011 single “Gucci Gucci," is still in the game. In fact, she's about to release her debut album, Somethin ‘Bout Kreay, on September 18 (instead of the previously announced date August 14) through Columbia Records. The album will featured a cast of heavy-hitter collaborations with artists like Diplo, Sissy Nobby, 2 Chainz, and Kid Cudi. ... Read More

There are some celebrities who seem to trail controversy like pixie dust, and Azealia Banks is certainly one of them. The latest dispute? The Harlem rapper’s Dazed and Confused cover being banned in seven countries. The cover features Banks blowing up a hot pink condom, with the words “Azealia Banks Blows Up” under in large font. Get it?
The Internet has exploded in a fit of both “Oh Em Gee, How could they?” and ... Read More

Every once in a while a record comes along that's so good, you refuse to take a break from listening to it long enough to give anything else a chance. In this case, that record is a 4-song EP that has been "coming out soon" for approximately the past 5 months.
Let me assure you--it was absolutely worth the wait.
Hyped as the savior of female MCs since last fall's debut single "212" took everybody's iPod by storm, Azealia Banks finally dropped ... Read More

Okay, so I know that isn't technically a brand-new track (it's been out for a couple of weeks), but Santigold's new song "Big Mouth" is making me all kinds of curious about her forthcoming 2012 album. Santi White, aka Santigold, revealed that the highly-anticipated follow-up to her 2008 debut will be called Master of My Make-Believe; the Brooklyn-based artist told V Magazine, "I want it to be about creating your own reality." If Santigold's reality is anything ... Read More

It's the most wonderful time of the year--you know, when every magazine, blog, and 13-year-old with a Tumblr compiles a "best of 2011" list and makes you feel old and out of touch for not having heard of half of the people on it. So hold on to your butts, because BUST is jumping into the fray with our very own Best of 2011 Spotify playlist. Yeah, Drake is on it. I'm just as ashamed as you are. Click here to listen and subscribe!Notable omissions: "212" by Azealia ... Read More

Azealia Banks (aka MC Miss Bank$) brings us a brand new type of rap/dance sound in her song "212". Seriously, you'll be dancing way too much. Reining from Harlem, this is the 19-year-old rapper's newer version of the video after the "official" one got leaked by some former friends a few months back. But the best thing about Azealia is not only can she spit, but she can sing too! Either way, I'm still gonna be jamming for a while. She's currently working on her ... Read More
