Amy Poehler has a pretty special place in my heart, largely because Leslie Knope is my spirit animal, but also because Poehler is wise and fearless, and she is never afraid to speak her mind.
Have you ever Googled "Best Amy Poehler Quotes?" Not only does she have two BuzzFeed posts dedicated to her wise and honest words, but there are tons of other round-ups of her advice to the world - because it really is that poignant and amazing.

When the cast of 30 Rock bid a last adieu to their Thursday night slot on NBC...everything basically shattered for me. First The Office, now this? Suddenly, Parks & Recreation had to pull a lot of the comedy weight for the widely-acknowledged funniest network on the telly. And I suddenly had an extra hour and a half to fill every week, twiddling my thumbs in the absence of a Liz Lemon laugh riot.
It's been a rough few years, but finally -- does one ... Read More

I know, it's a lot to take in. This is a talent threesome dreams are made of. A new series entitled Difficult People will star hilarious On the Street with Billy host Billy Eichner and wildly talented head writer Julie Klausner as cranky New York City comedians who apparently hate everyone, but love pop-culture, and each other. The show will be produced by none other than Amy Poehler, because she does everything awesome. Based on the awkward and perfect ... Read More
Identifying as a feminist is a profoundly personal decision, colored by the nuances of our own experiences. In The Feminine Mystique, the great Betty Friedan suggested that for feminists, the personal is the political, that our private thoughts and desires necessitate public action. Because of the intimate nature of the movement, it’s easy to scrutinize judge other women, but internal strife often stalls social change. Susan B. Anthony and Lucy Stone’s ... Read More

I just watched 3 minutes of Ilana Glazer rolling around a floor in bubble wrap and then smashing her face into a cake.
I know you are probably thinking, "Why the hell would you watch that?" Well personally I will watch anything Glazer does, as a huge fan of her Comedy Central show Broad City. The show itself started off as a web series created by Glazer and co-star Abbi Jacobson about two girls living a hysterically real and yet completely absurd life in Brooklyn. ... Read More

Get ready for it; we’re about to see a bunch of white males scrambling for the Late Show spot now that David Letterman has announced his retirement. The current top contenders include Jon Stewart, Jay Leno, Craig Ferguson, and Conan O’Brien. *yawn*
Men have traditionally hosted late night television because of the outdated gendered blocking of Television viewing times. Daytime television has no shortage of female hosts because daytime TV's assumed ... Read More
For last week’s feature in Elle magazine, Amy Poehler described her ravenous appetite for her craft, revealing her excitement about her new directing and producing gig on Broad City and her upcoming book, which she lovingly refers to as a self-help/memoir hybrid.
For Poehler and women everywhere, this is an exciting time. Her passion for women’s rights and female empowerment shines through her her every move, from her website Amy ... Read More
To quote Billy Eichner, “Let’s go, Amy Poehler!” If you haven’t checked out the hilarious comedian Billy Eichner of “Billy on the Street” in action, be sure to check it out. This Christmas, Billy is teaming up with the Queen of Comedy herself to deliver some holiday cheer to the streets of New York. The pair was just outside the BUST office, and we're so sad to have missed them. Their adventures are so very funny and ... Read More
I knew I loved Parks and Recreation’s Tammy and Ron Swanson from the moment they had ravenous angry-sex in the middle of a diner. As Tammy puts it, “[Ron’s her] man, and [they] have something twisted... and beautiful.” As talented as Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally are, that kind of chemistry cannot be manufactured, and as it turns out, the pair is married in real life.
And that marriage must be pretty special. Mullally, known ... Read More
