During the holiday season, it can be hard to connect with the peeps you love who are miles or even oceans away. But…have you tried good ole’ fashioned finger puppetry and postcards?
Jon Carling’s vintage style postcards have the right touch. You can say hello or goodbye or even spread-eagle-it for a little peace sign action.
His one of a kind drawings and stationary will be available at the BUST Holiday Craftacular: LA . This Saturday!

The lovely Nikki McClure, known for her painstakingly intricate papercuts, has a new 2009 calendar out titled Wake Up! Each beautiful image was originally cut from a single sheet of paper. Available now at the Bust Boobtique!

I am a total analog girl. So, it’s no surprise that I’m into Steampunk. It is all about the path not taken. A crafty look at history. Very industrial and awesome.
Check this. An antique, vintage-gold pocket watch, from EDM DESIGNS. Best in the Steampunk business. Loads of gears, spinning propellers, ornate etchings. Even a thick beaded ball and chain. So steamy

After you throw on your new beautiful handcrafted sweater, and fresh Verameat dino necklace from the LA Bust Craftacular; head on over to Quicksilver’s siteLA from 6pm to 11pm and enjoy the opening reception for Shifting Gears. The exhibit showcases the work-in-progress of Khrystnes eco-friendly concept car. There will be paintings, graphics, a scale model, a DJ and (so hip you havent head of it yet) eco-friendly cocktails.

According to Hollywood Reporter , Kristen Stewart of Twilight fame has been pegged to play rocker Joan Jett in the Runaways movie. She’s already working on her bad reputation (heh-sorry) so we’ll see how she does, it’s not a bad choice actually. We were speculating back in June that it should be Ellen Page or Olivia Thirby. What do you think? I personally love the Runaways, so am excited to see it, apparently Joan is a producer as well.
The NY Times today had an interesting article about how the early Earth may have looked. By studying crystals in Australian rocks, (pictured on the left), scientists have formed what they think is a more accurate picture of what Earth actually looked like, as depicted in the image on the right. Isn’t it incredible? I had no idea that the Earth looked exactly like my trapper keeper I had in 3rd grade! All that’s missing is a couple of dolphins or Orca whales jumping out of the water.

Due to the displaced trains during this Holiday weekend, I was lost on my way uptown when all of a sudden (Polar-Express-style) this old beautiful matte metal green train circa 1930 pulled into the Subway station. At the time I was too in awe to get on, but fortunately every Sunday during December, this nostalgia train will be running on the V track from 10 am to 5 pm.

It’s Holiday time, and that can only mean one thing in the world of showbiz in New York City, get ready for the yearly Christmas miracle that is Murray Hill’s Holiday show,
A Murray Little Christmas. Do not miss this, I swear you will love every dirty minute of it! To buy tickets,

Is your jaw tired, like mine, from all the holiday-family-yaking and turkey chewing? Then, this holiday season, make a statement. And say it with your bod
The budding t-shirt line for females called Every Little Counts is full of love and lust and poetry. Forget wearing your heart on your sleeve, ladies. Wear it on your bust.
And you can! In just 4 days! At the first ever L.A. Craftacular! Yes, she is a virgin. But not after December 6th. At the Echoplex from 11 am to 6 pm. Be there or be square. After all, it is a rite of passage.
I cannot wait. Ah, to declare my love for Charlotte Rampling. Loud and proud and in bold print.
