“You know what, Taylor Swift? You stay away from Michael J Fox’s son," Fey told a laughing crowd. Poehler joked that maybe Swift should "go for it," and Fey replied, "No, she needs some me time to learn about herself."
In case you missed it, Swift made some cutting comments about the issue in this month's Vanity Fair. After she was asked about Fey and Poehler's jab, Swift said, "Katie Couric is one of my favorite people, because she said to me she had heard a quote that she loved, that said, 'There's a special place in hell for women who don't help other women.'"
Ouch, Taylor. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Poehler took it all in stride. "Aw, I feel bad if she was upset," she said. "I am a feminist, and she is a young and talented girl. That being said, I do agree I am going to hell. But for other reasons. Mostly boring tax stuff. "
Fey also responded to the slight, saying that it was "just a joke. And I think it was actually a very benign joke." Here’s to diffusing the drama!
