Beyoncé and Malala: Our New Rosie the Riveters?

Beyoncé has recently been hit by a media storm of rumors about a possible divorce from husband Jay-Z and other super toxic gossip. But our girl doesn’t let TMZ and E! News get her down. Instead, she stays rocking on that girl power by posting a picture of herself emulating one of the greatest feminist icons of all time

Yesterday, Beyoncé took to Instagram as Rosie the Riveter, standing under the famous catchphrase, “We Can Do It!", not giving a damn about the media’s BS.

The revival of Rosie is nothing new, but some of our modern day feminist heroes and peers are taking on her iconic status. Anat Ronen, a Texas-based artist, drew Malala Yousafzai into a Rosie the Riveter mural on the side of a building in Houston

So what can we take from this?

A. Everyone looks great in a denim + red/pink combo.

B. These girls have serious muscle (literally and figuratively).

C. This is a great reminder of all the strong feminists we have in the world right now - definitely a cause to celebrate.

Happy Wednesday - now let’s roll up our sleeves and get back to work.
