If you are in Brooklyn tonight, then make your way over to Glasslands on Kent Ave, to see BUST favorite Heloise and the Savoir Faire play! Golden Triangle, Lights and Patrick Cleandenim will also be performing. But best of all, I'm DJ-ing! Free Danger will be playing sweaty dark disco tunes, and funky beats for all ladies and lads who have decided to celebrate this extra weekend day by getting sloppy. Starts at 9ish and goes to...? Don't miss out! ...

We all know that there is a huge amount of alterations made to most of the images we see of women celebrities in magazines and ad campaigns. It's all behind the scenes and pretty damn creepy if you ask me. I love how this inspired a group of grafitti artists in Berlin (FTW-Crew) to actually paste the photoshop tool bars next to posters of current pop icons and shed some light on one of advertising's greatest myths: what you see is what you get. Check...

I just found out that this super cool looking exhibit, Narrative Thread, is going to be up for an extra week which means my (cold) lazy ass might actually make it over to the nyc gallery where it's showing. I'm a huge fan of embroidery in art so co-curator Orly Cogan's pieces (like the one above) will probably be my favorites, but I can't wait to check out all the crafty work....

Who's going to see the Biggie movie Friday night? I hope it's good. My significant other, the very talented photographer Michael Lavine , worked with Biggie several times back in the day, so I've heard some interesting stories. I know when people make a bio, they have to reference the most iconic images, so its fitting that the movie poster echo's one of Michaels shots. Check out our interview with the actor who plays Big, Jamal Woolard, in the new issue hitting the stands...

Oh yeah, baby, you know what time it is. It's business time. TV business. Flight of the Conchords business. The new episode isn't airing until Sunday, January 18th, at 10pm, but if you need your FOC fix right now or you don't have HBO, you can watch it right here! ...

I was really into Be Your Own Pet, and wasn't terribly surprised when they broke up (momentarily disappointed maybe) but am psyched to hear lead singer Jemina Pearl is working on a solo album. She'll be playing with Denver's excellent contribution to Grunge, The Fluid this Saturday in Brooklyn. Check it!...

We obviously watch alot of tv around here, and the Snuggie infomercial is all the rage. There are so many awesome things about the Snuggie, lets list them here; it's cult like, it looks like an American Burqa or Hare krishna suit, it supports size diversity, it is mulletlike (business up front-party in the back -its backless!), it enables you to break out the 'Like a Prayer' chorus, and it solves the horror of having to answer the phone while being trapped in a blanket....

I am sad to say that this is the second and last trade of The Vinyl Underground. Apparently, comics readers didn't like it as much as I did, since it was canceled after twelve issues. Still, you can scoop up collection one, Watching the Detectives, as well as this current one, Pretty Dead Things, and enjoy the occult crimefighting rock'n'roll goodness for a time, anyway. The book reads like a freakier CSI, with each character a different part of the team. Morrison Shepherd (Moz, but he gets...

The new Showtime series , The United States of Tara, launches in a few weeks, and it looks like everything we could have hoped for, and more. Since it stars Toni Colette and is written by Diablo Cody, we've been expecting a feminist feast along the lines of a Muriel's Wedding/Juno mashup, and it looks like the ladies have delivered something even better. A women's studies dissertation waiting to happen, this show deals with a mid-western mama with 3 personalities: a man, a sexpot teen,...

I have been spreading my love of The Room ever since Colleen Kane introduced it to me about 3 years ago. It is one of my favorite movies of all time. It is possibly the worst movie of all time. I get really excited when it gets mentioned in anything. I almost blasted a shit when Debbie told me that they had a story on the cult phenomenon in Entertainment Weekly a couple weeks ago. Apparently David Cross and Paul Rudd are both...
