One of the things I remember most about being a kid in the summer were the endless days at the local pool, letting my hair turn green from the chlorine as my friends and I pretended to be mermaids. We would let our hair down and try to keep our feet together as if we had mermaid tails. If I could go back in time knowing that I actually could have a real mermaid tail, I would be the coolest kid at the pool! Here's this awesome craft project from Instructables to make a working mermaid tail. Little girls everywhere should be begging their moms to help them make one of these before the summer is out! Or, grown-ups with little girl hearts: get your Ariel on!

Mermaid tail in use:

P.S. Instructables is an awesome site if you are looking to make ANYTHING. Check it out!

*Note: I haven't tried making this myself, but it looks so cool and if I had my sewing machine or a pool near me I totally would!*
