Report from London

by Laurie Henzel

I had an action packed whirlwind of a weekend in London, where I attended the first ever London based BUST Craftacular! I arrived Friday and went immediately to Top Shop to scope it out. It was sort of a much bigger and trendier H+M, and not as cheap, but they did have alot of cool stuff. I can’t wait for it to come to NYC-hurry up, man!

Then I met up with our old pal Sheila B and the two lovely girls who put on the Craftacular, Clarie and Vicky, for some drinks and meat pies at the pub. Here’s Sheila calling us a cab, and the coveted meat pie, with mashed peas- whatever English people!!

The next day was the Craftacular, which lasted from noon till midnight. It was held in a funky old church basement, and part of the charm was the old timer bar that only charged 1.45 lbs for a beer! The Djs kept the crowd moving and it was packed all day and night. There were some really nice vendors there, including Tatty Devine (jewelry), Bobby Dazzler (dolls), Knit and Destroy, and a lot of cute boys. I loved checking out all the different DJ sets, the Vinyl Vendettas and Sheila B were my faves, and it was really nice meeting everyone.
