DC Comics’ First Lesbian Superhero Gets Her Own Series

by Intern Laura

DC Comics announced on their blog earlier today that Batwoman, the company’s first openly lesbian superhero, will be starring in her own series. After first being introduced in the 1950’s and re-introduced as openly gay in 2006, the character has been well received by fans and has the chops to become the DC family’s next beloved superhero. Fans have enjoyed following Batwoman and her alter ego, socialite Kathy Kane, since she was re-introduced in the Detective Comics series and we are excited to see what she will do next!
