New Telepathe video!

If these lovely ladies look familiar it's probably because you've seen them grace the pages of BUST Magazine. Busy and Melissa were models in last year's Feb/March fashion story. They've just released their newest record, and it's pretty awesome. You can read BUST's glowing review in the latest issue. They also have a slew of shows coming up. Check out Telepathe's myspace for all the info... Read More

Bossin' all of us

BY Dawn in TV

Our favorite stilt walking, fire twirling, aerial flying ladies are putting on not one, but TWO amazing performances this weekend! It's all happening at The House of Yes, their incredible performance space in Brooklyn where the ladies give all kinds of circus training classes. You probably remember Lady Circus from BUST's 15-Year Anniversary Party where they stole hearts and blew minds. You won't want to miss this show that will include live music, and a circus in the sky and the ground! Tickets are just $25 and include gourmet hors d'oeuvres. Read More

Dick in a hat

Aretha's hat sweeps the nation. Read More
I found the inauguration to be inspiring, uplifting, and overall unforgettable. A lot of bars in my area will be rerunning it tonight and I can't wait to go out and experience the excitement all over again with friends. But even though every speech and performance was no doubt incredible, I have to admit that I was most excited by Aretha Franklin's hat. She rocks my world. Read More
Five Points Band Times is hard. Fun is not. If you're in NYC Monday night, pack up your sins and unburden yourself at 'Gutless and Guilty' , a night of music and comedy happening at Santos Party House! The night will include: Bread and Puppet Theater's production of 'Dirt Cheap Opera', a bawdy, 45 minute adaptation of the famous Brecht/Weill 'Three Penny Opera' - a story of the gangster Mac the Knife and his brand new wife Polly newly mixed and freshly rebaked. We're jamming, jamming...

BY Dawn in Eat Me

In the slight chance you missed BUST's October/November issue, Lisa B. did a fantastic feature on canning that inspired me to do some canning and preserving of my own! This raspberry, fig and port wine jam was a huge hit at Christmas. Making it was so much easier than I thought it'd be and made great gifts. And although the holiday season is just about over, it's always a sweet idea to have some homemade jam on hand for fresh baked muffins and biscuits. If you missed the October issue, no worries, you can still get a copy in the Boobtique. Read More
A while back you may remember Tara and I gushing about the Akron/Family show we stumbled upon at SXSW. Since then, we've developed a full blown love affair with this band which is why we were SO excited to hear that these boys are gearing up for a new record, (coming out on Dead Oceans) and 2009 tour! The band will be playing a short run of December dates, culminating with a New Year's Eve performance, (with Deer Tick!), for what promises to be an all out lose-your-mind celebration of music and good times.
