Things to see, people to do
November 18: Lady Lady Lady, NY
Hearkening back to a time when a show was a show and a broad was a broad, Lady Lady Lady: It's All for You is a high-octane homage to the female-fronted music-variety television specials of the 1960s. Three unique lady vocalists, Yana Chupenko, Angela DiCarlo and Lizzy Yoder, are the Valkyries at the center of the storm, and will present a combination of original songs and old favorites, with comic transitions, glamorous costume changes and electrifying man dancers. Happening at the Zipper Factory, 336 W. 37th St.

November 9 – I Could Never Be Your Woman
In director Amy Heckerling’s new romantic comedy, I Could Never Be Your Woman, Tracey Ullman plays a mischievous Mother Nature, who playfully meddles with single mother, Sarah, (Michelle Pfeiffer) as she unexpectedly finds herself falling in love with a much younger and attractive man played by Paul Rudd. While Sarah navigates her budding romance, her adolescent daughter discovers her first love.

November 19 – Margot at the Wedding
Indie-auteur Noah Baumbach’s much anticipated new movie, Margot at the Wedding, boasts an impressive cast, starring Nicole Kidman as razor-tongued, newly single mother, Margot Zeller, and Jennifer Jason Leigh as Margot’s estranged younger sister, Pauline. While attending Pauline’s wedding to fiancé Malcom, (Jack Black), Margot is faced with all the exploding tensions that only a family wedding can bring out. Similar to Baumbach’s previous works, this is an in-depth character study and bittersweet coming-of-age exposé that puts the fun back into dysfunctional family!
