During the first day of BUST’s three-day showcase at SXSW, we were graced with the beautiful sounds of dream-poppers Widowspeak at the Pussy Palace. The indie rockers’ Western-influenced sound was a perfect fit for Austin (duh), and Molly Hamilton’s soft-sung vocals created a chill, almost ethereal atmosphere. In case you missed our live stream of the kickass house show, watch Widowspeak perform a shoegaze-y ditty below. For more American rock goodness from Widowspeak, visit their bandcamp here! And if you want to feel transported into the...

Although we'd like to think spring was almost here, the cloudy drudgery outside of BUST HQ loves to keep proving us wrong. Our only consolation in these dark, depressing times is super delicious and fruity macaroon thumprints with chia seed raspberry jam! The best thing about this recipe? It's vegan, gluten-free, oil-free, grain-free, AND soy-free! Healthy(ish) and amazingly tasty snack? Yes, please. There's a little bit of prep involved for this recipe (you'll have to chill the chia seed jam for a few hours), but...

THURSDAY - DAY 1 @ SXSW It's 5AM and I'm running down the stairs of a Greenpoint, Brooklyn walk-up with the wild delusion that I'll get a cab to get me to Newark airport in time for my 6:30 flight. $80 and an hour and twenty-six minutes later I'm panting, out of breath, in the remnants of a line boarding my plane to Austin. There are leather jackets, guitar cases, vanity sunglasses, and black band t-shirts everywhere. The mass exodus of the stereotypical is underway. SXSW has...

With major debate over whether or not consent should be taught in public school sexual education curriculums, this short PSA reminds us of how someone should react when they find another individual passed out on their couch. Although this should also include checking to make sure the individual is safe, and that they don't need hospital assistance, apparently some people still just need to understand that being passed out is not an excuse for sexually harassing someone. It's pretty sad that some people still need to...
